Sunday:
Got up extra early to take Fred to the airport bus and to see him off. I'm definitely sad to see him go! He was so much fun to be around, and we really got along well. Unfortunately for Fred, he's back to work literally as soon as he gets back to Lille.
Later that day, we had our first Grateful Dead rehearsal of the season. Due to overwhelming fan response, Drew felt that we just had to do another round of shows. It's weird to think that there are so many crazy Deadheads in Korea . . . anyway, practise was tedious, but okay I guess. We've got a new bass player, Chris, who thinks he knows everything, but actually in most cases is wrong. Being the professional musician of the group, Drew has given me the extra responsibility of setting Chris straight when he gets out of line.

Wednesday (Sept 3):
I'm now fully back into the thick of work again. I'm not thrilled with my students this semester . . . I have a feeling that this could be a long year.

Friday:
So there was this Korean guy who was supposed to rent Bobby's room for the month of September. Bobby had mentioned it to me, but apparently had not told Summer. Plus after the Max thing (BTW, Summer did find some money in one of her drawers, plus the keys, but still no word from the bastard), we were both a little hesitant. So then there was this whole back and forth thing about whether he was going to come or not and so on. (Definitely some tension with Summer and Bobby on this one) In the end, we agreed to have him stay, but the deal breaker for him is that our wireless internet isn't working right now, so he's not coming after all! I'm not too upset--it'll be nice to have our apartments to ourselves again, and not have to deal with any more strangers. I'm tired of sharing my space with people I don't know or care about. Summer's pretty happy to have our place to ourselves too.
Tonight I met a dj who's looking for a singer to record and do some live stuff. He's into Portishead-style music-- sounds like a really cool potential project for me!

Saturday:
So Helen and Joey (owners of the dance studio) are getting married in a couple of weeks, and they want me to put together a band to play at the reception. They're having a North American style wedding, which means a real party for a reception! Nice! But a lot of work for me: Helen gave me a CD of song requests, and a lot of them ended up being really cheesy Michael Buble songs. Now I have to find a way to make them sound cool . . .
