| CHILI 1 pound ground beef 1 - 14.5 Oz. can tomato sauce 1 - 14.5 Oz. can kidney beans (with liquid) 1 - 14.5 Oz. can pinto beans (with liquid) 1/2 cup diced onion 1/4 cup diced green chilies 1/4 cup diced celery 2 medium tomatoes, chopped 1 teaspoons cumin powder 2 tablespoons chili powder 1 teaspoon black pepper 2 teaspoons salt 1 cup water |

| 1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat; drain off the fat 2. Using a fork, crumble the cooked beef into pea-size pieces. 3. In a large pot, combine the beef plus all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat. , stirring every 15 minutes, Cook for 2 to 3 hours. Makes about 12 servings. |

| BANANA LOAF 1-3/4 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1/3 cup shortening 2/3 cup sugar 2 eggs, well beaten 1 cup mashed ripe banana (3 medium bananas) Sift flour with baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside. Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, and continue to cream until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, then add flour mixture alternately with bananas. Put into a well-greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 60 to 70 minutes until loaf pulls away from sides of pan and is springy to the touch. Place pan in rack and cool 10 minutes, then turn loaf out onto rack to complete cooling. |

| APPLE OATMEAL COOKIES 2 cups oatmeal not flavored 1 shredded apple without the peel 1 tbsp brown sugar 1 tsp salt 1 tbsp molasses 3 tbsp water |

| Preheat oven to 350. Mix ingredients together then squeeze into desired size in you palm. Place on cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes or until brown. Cool completely. You might want to try one yourself they taste great. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| BRAN OATMEAL COOKIES 3 cups horse bran 2 cups oatmeal Quaker dry type 1/3 cup honey 1/2 cup molasses 1 or more grated apples 1 cup flour 2 tbsp vegetable oil 2 cups water |
