Seyer's room - south wall, left tower
The third floor of the Chapel Tower, a visitor must climb two stories to arrive before the waxed oak double-doors to enter Seyer's room. Wall sconces flank the entryway, both outside and in. A bookshelf lines both walls, left and right of the entry. A large desk, with six side drawers and one center, and a chair face a custom-built divider wall. A tall, thin window shines on a triangular drawing table and stool on your right. A silver, three-candle holder reside on the desk and the drawing table. The dividing wall, made from the same black stone of the tower's construction, is interspersed by a variety of cut-outs. Some functioning as shelves, others like windows.
To your left beyond the wall's separation, a small, circular table and two chairs create an intimate dining area underneath another tall, thin window. The warm glow of the fireplace beckons you to walk further into Seyer's room. Two pot hooks and a hot pot indicate that she is used to cooking for one, or perhaps two on occasion. Two silver, three-candle holders are placed on the small tables flanking her bed. Above the bed, tiny, scattered, glass cutouts sprinkle light across the room. A small sofa, chair, short table and circular stand create a reading/conversation nook underneath another tall, thin window at the room's far end.

Scion's Chambers - interior, middle center right
The entrance to the Scion's Chambers is blocked by two sets of double-doors; heavy, oak doors. The first carved with a central jeweled crown surrounded by other symbols of royalty. The second set partially carved with the personal symbols of each Scion. Louie's salamander appears on the top right of the leftmost door. Usually open and guarded when the Scion is available. Closed and guarded when not available.
On entering the Scion's study, the first thing you notice are the Sentinels. The Ranger elite, assigned the Scion's protectors, they stand at attention in strategic locations. In the north wall are two windows overlooking the courtyard, paned with glass and iron. The northeast corner of the room is dwarfed by a large, dark oak conference table footed with carved eagle talons. An assortment of chairs surround it, some comfortable, some not. Louie's tastes err on the side of convenience when conscripting furniture for his private rooms. On the east wall, behind the end chair, hangs a large tapestry, an idealized weaving of the Castle, the steamy heights above, and the misty depths below. Bookshelves and racks occupy the southeast corner and half of the south wall. Portraits and landscapes of varying sizes cover the remainder. The Scion's desk and two more chairs are placed vertical to these. A casual organizer, Louie has his writing implements, green sealing wax, candle, two stacks of papers under stone weights placed on the desk. Three drawers are stacked below. A small, plain, white-painted door near the southwest corner is the entrance to the Scion's bedroom. To the right, hangs an unusual painting, more enthusiastic than talented, obviously one of Riddyl's efforts. The west wall is a huge fireplace, made from the same black rock of the castle's construction. Above a white, marble mantlepiece, a crude, color mosaic map of the Isle of Ember is embedded.
Entering the Scion's bedroom, on the short wall to the door's right, hang two exquisitely painted portraits in golden frames. At eye-level a portrait of the late Queen Consort, Caterina, drawn shortly after their marriage. Above is the portrait of Jeanne Marie, Louie's first wife. On the west wall is another huge fireplace, the duplicate of the one in his study except the mosaic is an idealized version of his emblem, a gold salamander wearing a crown on a green field. Two comfortably padded chairs are placed close by, a small table between them. In the southwest corner is another plain, white-painted door, the entrance to the Scion's dressing room and water closet. A large window, paned in glass and iron and draped in green velvet and gold trim, is centered between two works of art. On the right, a towering, detailed statue of a four-legged wyrm wrapped around and peering through the branches of a tree, carved from a single blackwood trunk. On the left, a plush couch with intricately carved wood, commissioned by Louie's great-grandfather. The east wall is bare. In the northeast corner a king-sized, four poster bed resides flanked by two small, single drawer tables. The feather mattress bed is made with fine linen sheeting, woolen blankets and a green velvet coverlet with gold trim. The many pillows are goose down, covered with linen. A water table, topped with a rose-painted, porcelain basin, a white pitcher and a stack of soft, clean cloths, is located on the north wall, a brass censer nearby. Small, framed family portraits are arrayed above.
