| Every summer firework festivals are celebrated all over Japan. We have been to Sumidagawa Fireworks, Koto-ku Fireworks and Tokyo Bay Foreworks in Tokyo in the last 3 years. This year, two of us, not accompanied with any friends, went to our nearby Edogawa-ku Fireworks. Compare to Tokyo Bay where the Rainbow Bridge background is just fanatastic, I think Edogawa Fireworks is not that bad. There were a lot of stalls on the side of the roads all along to keep visitors entertained. And the distance from the station to the venue was not as far as Tokyo Bay either. Transportation was a lot better in Edogawa. |
| By the time we arrived the venue, it was already packed with 'sheets' on the ground, if not by people themselves. Fortunately we only need very small space, plus we found a nice couple sharing their square with us. Toshi started drinking (and I eating) after we settled down and by the time the fireworks began he was enjoying his second can of beer. As a result, he needed to looked for the washroom. He left around 7pm, 15 minutes before it started, and then came back at 8:15pm, 15 minutes before it finished! I knew he's gonna get lost! |
