We are Karen and Jason Ward. We have been Registered Childminders for 5 years. We offer a Childminding Service during Term-Time Only for children aged 0 - 14. We also opened a School Holiday Club in July 2003 for children aged 4 - 12. The Club is held at The Vale First and Middle School and due to the success in the summer is now open ALL school holidays. We are NCMA members and belong to a Worthing Childminding Group called Magic Minders (see Links page) Karen is Vacancy Co-Ordinator for this group. Karen is a Support Childminder giving new childminders help and guidance in their first year. We meet three times a month with the children at Magic Minders for a coffee morning and the children have lots of toys to play with and activities to do. We live in Broadwater, Worthing, West Sussex, and have three children, Marcus, Karlie and Jamie . We have three cats called Snowy, Sox and Sooty, a rabbit called Doodles, two Australian parakeets called Bonnie and Clyde and a tank full of tropical fish. We are available to take and collect children from The Vale First and Middle School in Findon daily and can also do collections from the local pre-schools if required. We have an eight seater people carrier. We live in a four bedroom house with a large enclosed back garden. We provide a wide range of outside toys for various age groups including bikes, trikes, scooters, ball pit, swings, slide, trampoline and football net. Indoors we also have a wide range of toys for all age groups including a computer and Playstation. For pre-scool children we do things such as arts and crafts, messy play, have themed months, visit toddler groups and childrens adventure places. We have a range of indoor soft play equipment for the children to exert some energy on when the weather is not so good outside.We go on outings such as Marwell Zoo, Gatwick Airport, and Arundel. We also have natural play materials such as a Treasure Basket for the babies and a Heuristic Play Box for the toddlers. We provide parents with a daily diary for the Under 5's which we complete every time the child is here. It informs the parents of what their child has been up to, where we have been, what they have eaten and any nappy changes. Parents read this at home and add any comments they wish to make. They then send it back the next time their child is with us. We also do a Yearly Book for the under 5's. This is a folder with samples of work completed by the children (paintings, drawings etc), it also has photos of any places of interest we have visited and we also include observation progress sheets so that the parents can see how their child is progressing and developing.We have various qualifications (see Qualifications) including an NVQ3 in Early Years. We are NCMA Quality Assured Childminders. We have various policies (see Policies) and also have a prospectus which is available on request. If a place is taken up at our setting then a folder is provided to the parents with all our policies in. Above all our aim is to provide a safe, loving and home-like environment for all the children in our care. Above all, the priority is to be safe and have FUN!!!! |
