Work: His father Edwin (and his father John) were both lace manufacturers, which was quite a thriving business in the Lenton district at the time. So if he had stayed in England, that's probably what he would've ended up doing. As it was, he came to America, and in the censuses, they have him down as a 'coachman'. I'm assuming this either means a private chauffeur, or a cabbie. His son Edward, in a later census, actually has 'chauffeur-private family' as his job description, so I'm assuming this would be for Thomas as well.

Update: found Thomas on a ship, but it's much later than when he arrived originally. It's 1910ish, I can't remember exactly. Must have gone back to visit family. It's definitely him, he's listed as Thomas Langford Hill. Could've been when these pics were taken.
Died: July 14 1934 in St. Clair Co., Mo. She was 'sick' for a while before she died, lived with her sister who cared for her. Unsure what the sickness was. Speculating
