Carl August Blankenfeld    &   Catherine Elizabeth Albert
Born: November 25, 1859 in Bavaria, Germany.*(See note below)

Died: December 15, 1948 at 89 years, in Kansas City, Missouri.
Cause of death: Arterio Sclerosis.
Buried: St Mary's Cem. Kansas City, Mo.

Parents: Henry Albert and Catherine Weiss. Born: Germany

Siblings: unknown

Emigrated in 1882 to U.S. This would make her 22-3, and she wasn't married for 2 more years, so I'm assuming she came over with family. Now, if they were engaged to one another, he (Carl) possibly traveled with them, seeing as the immigration dates are the same.

Marriage: Carl Blankenfeld

Children: 4, 3 lived.
             Louise
             Edyth
             Jennie

*Note: In my Great-Grandmother Edyth's 1920 census, she lists Metz, Germany as the place of her mother's birth. Today, it is in France. My mother told me that one of Edyth's parents came from the Alcase-Lorraine area, so this would fit. However, her death certificate lists place of birth as Bavaria. Is it possible that she was born in one place, and grew up in another? Supposing Gramma Edyth just assumed she was born there? Hope she's right, so I will have the actual town she was from!
Also, my 3rd cousin in Texas traveled to Utah, that great Mecca of genealogy, and found what she thinks might be Catherine on a ship. The General Werder, arrived June 19, 1882 at NY, Castle Garden, departed Bremen, Germany. Good work, Judy! Hope it's her.
Born: November 25, 1852 in Germany

Died: August 27, 1932 at 79 years, at Bell Memorial Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
Cause of death: Arterio Sclerosis.
Buried: St Mary's Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.

Parents: Christian Blankenfeld, and Louise ?, born in Germany.

Siblings: unknown

Emigrated in 1882 to U.S.*, not sure if he went straight to Missouri. August 28, 1888 filed Declaration of Intent. Naturalized citizen by 1900. Lived in Kansas City Missouri, for what looks like the rest of his life. Address at death was 4737 Campbell St., their home.

Marriage: Catherine Elizabeth Albert on April 30, 1884, in Jackson County, Missouri.

Children: See Catherine.

Work: Owned Greenhouses for a time. Kansas City, Mo. Directories 1889-91 has him listed at 728 Cherry as a florist.

*Note: Have found an August Blankenfeldt, age 29, on the ship SS Nurnberg, April 1882, docked at Baltimore, Maryland. It says his destination is Chicago, as a workman...This should be him, but I'll do more checking.
Home
Catherine, Carl and Great Uncle August Hill, Edyth's son. I calculated it's probably circa 1912.
