With this era of rapidly developing technology, it is not impossible that one day there is a sure fire way of totally and effectively eradicating cervical cancer.

With several studies documenting several new approaches in the treatment of cervical cancer, there was a pronounced decline in incidence rates of the said disease in some countries. Although this decline is a good indication that these newly discovered therapies really do work, still the most effective way is prevention.

Right now, the most essential thing any woman can do to reduce her possibility of dying from cervical cancer is to undergo regular Pap testing. In terms of prevention, the next fundamental thing to do is to modify risk factors that a woman has control over specifically quitting smoking, limiting the number of sexual partners, and delaying the onset of sexual activity. Moreover, with todays fast paced life, there is a hope that one day there will be an effective vaccine against HPV (Human papillomavirus) because if one is able to stop HPV infection, then the rates of the occurrence and incidence of cervical cancer should drop.
