Homemade Fairy Wings

For the 1st time, I've finally made some fairy wings; in fact, I'm currently making a pair, using crafting wire, a feathered boa & some suade cording. I thought I would try it & see how easy (or difficult) it would be to make a pair; I also thought that I could finish a pair of fiary wings that I had started back in the early 1990's. I then thought it would be nice to see which way is easier to make, so I can share it with others; I then began to finish up a pair that I had begun to make & create others, using a different method.

The method I used to finish making my lt blue-flowered fairy wings was by using a coat hanger, then sewn my wings onto it, then added some suade cording; I 1st added some feathers & jewels to make it look fairy looking & pretty, then took 2 coat hangers, untwisted it, bend itto shape then sewed the blue-flowered material onto the coat hangers; I then added a couple of suade cording, measured to the length I want & added it to my wings, then added some material to help the wings to bend & was finally finished.

The other method I used to make a pair of fairy wings was to use floral wire, crafting wire, a feathered boa & some suade cording; I then getting my floral wire to the length I want, then unfold it & make them into a circle, then twist the ends together in the middle of both circle. Then getting my crafting wire, do the same thing that I did with the floral wire, then put them together; then take another piece of floral wire, twist it around both, securing them together, then twist the 2 wires together. The 1st 1 I did, I then added my feathered boa, before twisting the 2 wires together, then add another crafting wire, to scure them together; I then added some crafting wires to secure the frames together, before adding the boa. I 1st stitched the beginning part of the boa, to secure it into place, before wrapping it around the 2 wires; as I was wrapping it around, I moved it around to my liking & so I would have enough to go around both frames. I then secured it together, added a couple pieces of suade cordeing & was done; I'm still adding some crafting wire, then I'll be doing the next steps, before being done.

I've been taking phtos, using my film camera, so I can show you how it's done; as soon as I get them developed & manipulated, I'll add them to my Flickr account for you all to see; I'll also add some here, so you can see how to make 1 yourselves or have me make you 1.

If any of you would like me to make you 1, please let me know which 1 you'd like me to make, then whether or not you'd like me to mail them to you or bring it with me to Dragon*Con; here's how much for the fairy wings:

Fairy Wings, using coat hangers.............................$10.00/pair

Fairy Wings, using floral/crafting wires.................$12.00/pair

For mor info on my fairy wings & how to make 1 yourself of have me make you 1, you can contact on Myspace: http://www.myspace.com/SpiritGoddess, my spiritual journal: http://vampspirits.livejournal.com, my Vampire Freaks: http://vampirefreaks.com/Vampira_Keyeo or by e-mail: GoddessinLove@hotmail.com. Then n uncle called, asking if I was ok & that he had received an e-mail, using my name & a friend's e-mail address, asking him to send me $2500 for lost luggage in Africa; when I told my mom to let him know I hadn't sent an e-mail to him, he got very suspicious & so did I. I then received a similiar e-mail & deleted it; after awhile, I went back online, changed my e-mails & passwords, using that e-mail address, then went to MSN/Windows Live, to their Hel Support & reported to them what happened; I then thought of letting everyone on ll my Profiles know, so if it has happened to them, they'll know what to to, or if they see some thing similiar, they'll delete it.

Please read this carefully, for anyone using a Hotmail account & warn your friends, family & everyone on all your Profiles; This is serious & may be if we all gang together, may be this will stop.

Those who stick together, stay together.

Storing Crafts

When storing crafts, you want to be careful, not to store them where they might get dusty, damaged or cook; some carfts may be stored in a cool, dry place, others can be stored in boxes, storage containers & such. But be forwarned, there might be sunlight coming through & if you have clay of 1 form or another, you might have to store them in a closet or somewhere away from sunlight; also, if you have beads, cloth or scrapbooking supplies, then make sure you store them in a container, for sunlight not to fade them or make them so hot, they melt or fray. Also, when storing them, try different places, the if you're planning on moving them & you know they're gonna be in some sunlight, make sure they're covered or somehow protected from the sun, unless of course, they're clay, then you may have to store them in you may have to store them in a cool dry place, away from sunlight.

When storing beads, you want to be extra careful as to not allow sunlight to hit them, or have them in the sun for long periods of time, or they will fade; the same goes for storing scrapbooking paper & other crafts you don't wish to fade. If you have stickers, die cuts or any photos, you may also want to do the same thing & store them in the same manner as your polymer clay, beads & scapbooking paper.

Any other crafts can get heated by the sun, but won't cook (like clay), or fade (see above), but instead will fray (cloth) or just get too hot to touch; be very careful when storing them, however, as you don't want to stack them so high, that either it'll become a fire hazard, or you can't get to them when you want them. If you're like me, you like being able to get to all your crafts easily; well the best way to do this, is to see how much room you have & go from there. Also, you may want to start getting rid of any crafts you don't use, need or want, that will cut it down some; then decide how you want to store them, where you'd like to store them & how easy it is for you to get to your crafts. 1 you do that, then you're set & ready to start crafting.
