Homemade Fairy Wings

For the 1st time, I've finally made some fairy wings; in fact, I'm currently making a pair, using crafting wire, a feathered boa & some suade cording. I thought I would try it & see how easy (or difficult) it would be to make a pair; I also thought that I could finish a pair of fiary wings that I had started back in the early 1990's. I then thought it would be nice to see which way is easier to make, so I can share it with others; I then began to finish up a pair that I had begun to make & create others, using a different method.

The method I used to finish making my lt blue-flowered fairy wings was by using a coat hanger, then sewn my wings onto it, then added some suade cording; I 1st added some feathers & jewels to make it look fairy looking & pretty, then took 2 coat hangers, untwisted it, bend itto shape then sewed the blue-flowered material onto the coat hangers; I then added a couple of suade cording, measured to the length I want & added it to my wings, then added some material to help the wings to bend & was finally finished.

The other method I used to make a pair of fairy wings was to use floral wire, crafting wire, a feathered boa & some suade cording; I then getting my floral wire to the length I want, then unfold it & make them into a circle, then twist the ends together in the middle of both circle. Then getting my crafting wire, do the same thing that I did with the floral wire, then put them together; then take another piece of floral wire, twist it around both, securing them together, then twist the 2 wires together. The 1st 1 I did, I then added my feathered boa, before twisting the 2 wires together, then add another crafting wire, to scure them together; I then added some crafting wires to secure the frames together, before adding the boa. I 1st stitched the beginning part of the boa, to secure it into place, before wrapping it around the 2 wires; as I was wrapping it around, I moved it around to my liking & so I would have enough to go around both frames. I then secured it together, added a couple pieces of suade cordeing & was done; I'm still adding some crafting wire, then I'll be doing the next steps, before being done.

I've been taking phtos, using my film camera, so I can show you how it's done; as soon as I get them developed & manipulated, I'll add them to my Flickr account for you all to see; I'll also add some here, so you can see how to make 1 yourselves or have me make you 1.

If any of you would like me to make you 1, please let me know which 1 you'd like me to make, then whether or not you'd like me to mail them to you or bring it with me to Dragon*Con; here's how much for the fairy wings:

Fairy Wings, using coat hangers.............................$10.00/pair

Fairy Wings, using floral/crafting wires.................$12.00/pair
