Mandana
is most famous for her portrayal of lifer Nikki Wade in the award winning
TV Drama Bad Girls. For 3 years Mandana played the role of the tough on
the outside, soft on the inside inmate at Larkhall Prison, who fell in love
with the prison governor Helen Stewart (played by Simone Lahbib). Her character was inspired by the late Prison reform compaigner CHRIS TCHAIKOVSKY. Nikki also became quite a role model to Gay and bi-sexual women worldwide... breaking down the stereotypes that have so often hurt the gay community, Nikki Wade became one of the most respected and loved lesbians on Television! Before Mandana took on the role of Nikki she played a completely different role in Carlton Television's daytime soap opera, London Bridge. In this she played a married doctor called Sam Haynes who's storylines included a kidnapping, methadone addiction and a two-timing husband, before setting off to India! This role lasted 3 years. A long haired Mandana could be seen briefly in the role of the woman henchbeast in The New Adventures of Robin Hood episode: A Price On His Soul. Mandana's latest televison role was in one of the BBC's new one off afternoon plays. She co-starred alongside June Whitfield and Jeremy Sheffield in the hour long play Coming Up For Air. This was aired by the BBC on the 28th January 2003. Mandana has also appeared in a few commercials for Carte Dor, Czech Bank and Kohler. |
