1. The love of money is the root of all evil (ie, all bad things in the world are a result of people loving money too much)

2. You shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth (ie, if you get a gift, you shouldn't ry to find out how much it's worth)

3. Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you (ie, treat people how you want to be treated - nicely, presumably)

4. The road to hell is paved with good intentions (ie, things can still end up badly even if you did it with good intentions)

5. Many hands make light work (ie, you get things done quicker if there's more of you)

6. Take care of the pennies, and the pounds take care of themselves (ie, if you save small amounts of money then it adds up to large amounts)

7. A rolling stone gathers no moss (ie, if you move fast, you can't accumulate anything)
