This was also the only city where I had a real "Tourist" problem. Since I only had 1 day, I thought I'd do a "Hop-on, Hop-off" bus tour. I went to the farthest stop first. The bus never came back... A group of us were stranded and had to make our way back to town by foot and metro. We made it back exhausted and pissed. The tour operators had apparently forgotten their english in the time we were lost, so it was a mess. I finally managed to get a seat on the last bus of the day. Too weary to hop-off anywhere, I stayed on the bus for the whole trip. As a result I got to see what a huge, diverse place Vienna is. So, it wasn't a total loss and next time I'll stay longer!

this Baroque beauty was the summer palace of Prince Eugen of Savoy. It eventually passed to the Hapsburgs. This is the lower half. The upper half is a twin on the other end of the gardens. Sheesh... how'd you like to have to mop those floors!
I got to go in during a Mass and have a peek. They kept the tourists roped off from the congregation. Seemed a bit tacky...
I wandered into another local cathedral and overheard the organist practicing on the huge pipe organ. He didn't see me and there was no one else around and it was really a peak moment.
