     - Decalcification is a commonly recognised complication of orthodontic treatment with fixed appliances if good oral hygiene is not maintained.
     - Dental plaque is an example of a biofilm which is defined as a community of bacteria (or other microbes) and their extracellular polymers that is attached to a surface.
