Psalm 18:2     The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in Whom I will trust...
How is it that some people meet adversity so much more successfully than others? I think a lot of it has to do with preparation. The strong ones have learned to gather strength in advance. They are ready for the crisis when it comes.
Here's a tip I have found helpful. During sunny days, build your spirit to be ready when the storms of life beat down upon you. Each morning, let the first words you say be, "Jesus Christ is with me." In the middle of the morning, stop wherever you are and whatever you are doing, close your eyes for a moment, lean forward on your desk and say, "Jesus Christ is with me." At noon repeat it, and sometime during the afternoon when your energies are depleted, repeat it again. Finally, the last thing before you sleep, look up at the darkness and say, "Jesus Christ is with me."
Soon every unconscious automatic thought during a difficulty will bring you the great fact that Jesus Christ is with you and that you are more and more a conqueror.
Today Lord, and always, let me never forget that You are with me.
