Luke 5:27     ... Follow Me ...
My father, old and retired, still kept two horses, Mike and Pat, to do a little work around the place. Pat was wild, would never allow anyone to approach and catch him. Mike was very gentle. Dad would pet him awhile, then lead him into the barn to be harnessed, not even looking toward the skittish Pat. Pat, not willing to be separated from his mate, would trot into the barn after Mike. When both horses were harnessed, Dad would lead Mike to the wagon, again ignoring Pat. And Pat would willingly come along to position himself beside Mike, ready to be hitched for work.
I sometimes think of myself as a skittish, headstrong horse. But there stands Jesus, waiting for me to take my place beside Him and pull the heavy load of living. Why dont I follow Pats example more often and follow my gentle Leader?
Dear Jesus, let me pull in harmony with You, step by step.
