Feeding the 5000 Study
Mark 6:30-44
- "Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest." If you were one of the disciples, what would you expect?
- Surprise! There are 5,000 people waiting on the shore. Now how do you feel? "You give them something to eat." How would you have reacted to this statement?
- "How many loaves do you have?" What was Jesus asking the disciples to do?
- How do you react when you are faced with an overwhelming sense of need? When do you feel most inadequate and short of resources as you look at the needs around you?
- How have you seen Jesus stretch your resources beyond what you could imagine?
- What thoughts must the disciples have as they collect the leftovers?
- Jesus had compassion on the crowd because "they were like sheep without a shepherd." What group of people do you feel the most compassion for?
- What is the biggest reason you work hard?
- Do you get enough rest?
