Mark 4:35-41
- Have you ever been in a natural disaster?
- If you had been one of the disciples when the boat was about to sink, what would you have done?
a. started bailing,
b. jumped overboard,
c. taken command,
d. wake Jesus
- Why do you think the disciples woke Jesus?
- What was the tone of Jesus' voice when he said, "Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
- Why did Jesus allow a storm to come up in the first place?
a. He didn't-storms are natural,
b. He was asleep,
c. He wanted to test them,
d. He wanted to strectch their faith
- What do you do when storms come up in your life?
- "Quiet! Be still!" If Jesus were to speak these words to you today, what would they mean?
Psalm 29
- How does a thunderstorm make you feel? Does it make you think of God?
- What is the impact of this LORD on nature? On the people? On you?
- When the storm passes (v 10.) what then?
- When storms come into your life how do you respond? Are you like the people - giving glory to God for ruling over the storm? Or are you like nature - in an uproar?
- Would you find peace by recognizing the LORD of the storm?
