Holy Spirit Study (Who’s Afraid)         John 12:20-36

  1. Are you more likely to panic in the big crisis or the little one?

  2. In (v 24), who is the kernel of wheat?

  3. How is this related to the Gentiles’ request? (v 21)

  4. What is Jesus calling his disciples to do (v 25-26). What promise do they receive?

  5. Gal 5:22-23   But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
    John 15:5   "I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

    What do these two verses say to you? (The fruit comes only as we submit our lives and let the Spirit control us.)

  6. Right now, do you feel like you are walking in the dark, the light or shadow? (v 35) Why?

  7. Is there an area of your life where Jesus is calling you to die so that you might live?

  8. What do we tend to hold on to rather than follow Jesus (die to self)? How can we let go of this tendency?
