I Will Celebrate
By Karen Holland

21 ... "I will celebrate before the LORD."

Take a look at this passage -- at how David worships the Lord.

5 David and the whole house of Israel were celebrating with all their might before the LORD, with songs and with harps, lyres, tambourines, sistrums and cymbals.

14 David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the LORD with all his might, ...

David celebrated with all his might before the Lord with song and dance. This display of emotion, this willingness to leap for joy before the Lord - this willingness to openly celebrate, without regard to outward appearances - this is how David worshipped the Lord. Notice that this type of worship has its critics.

20 When David returned home to bless his household, Michal daughter of Saul came out to meet him and said, "How the king of Israel has distinguished himself today, disrobing in the sight of the slave girls of his servants as any vulgar fellow would!"

Where is your heart today? Will you celebrate before the LORD with all your might?

___________
Lord help each of us come before You and celebrate ...
    with all our hearts ...
    with all our souls ...
    with all our minds ...
    with all our might!
___________

Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

___________

You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;

Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.

Praise the LORD. * Praise the LORD, O my soul.
    * Hebrew Hallelu Yah ; also in verse 10

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: "Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns."

In a loud voice they sang: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!"
