(almost) everyday pictures!

Here is an idea of the morning traffic we face here.  There are separate trails (often) for bikes, pedestrians, and of course cars. Once you safely cross the street- you have to look again to cross the bike lanes!  The bike rack is at the kid's school and the individual photos are from the first day of school for each.

One weekend we hiked in the dunes between Wassenaar and Katwijk (We biked to the park entrance from the house.). This is one of the last remaining  WWII German pill boxes on the dunes of Holland's coast. There are no signs telling about the history.  It was only marked as a lookout point.  The dunes hold a sad local history as groups  were brought out, shot and burried in the sand during the war.

Rotterdam Zoo Blijdorp Diergaarde

30 minutes by car we found the Rotterdam Zoo, one of the nicer zoos we've experienced. The elephant exhibit was the best ever- 9 or 10 elephants including 3 babies.  Noah loved it!! It was a beautiful fall day and a fun time for everyone.
