| During the school fall break we took a short vacation to Denmark. We stayed at the Vejstrupgaard Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in the southern part of the Jutland penisula. The children had a great time playing with the animals, especially the pony named Bittie, and a family of rabbits. We had a farm breakfast every morning with homemade breads and jams and a homecooked meal at the farm every night except one. Poul and Hanna were very exceptional hosts. Hanna was an exceptional cook. We spent time with other families from Holland, Denmark and Germany. The farm was a short distance from the town of Kolding. Dominating the Kolding skyline is the Koldinghus Castle, which we were able to visit. We also visited the original Legoland park in Billund. Another highlight was our trip to Den Gamle By, the National Open Air Museum of Urban History and Culture in Arhus. |
