Rachel's side of the story
My part of the adventure in Holland
Nov. 11, 2004
My 9th birthday is here at last. I had an apple tart instead of a cake.  It was really good.
A week later, I had my birthday party at "Color Me Mine" pottery studio. My favorite gifts were the 5th Harry Potter book and a neat zebra stapeler. I painted a Christmas mug that says "Merry X-mas" on the bottom so when you're finished drinking you'll be reminded of the season. .
My Brownie Troop, #11, after our investiture/re-dedication ceremony.  One of my favorite projects this year was making a fresh pine wreath. We meet every other Wednesday after school. I'm looking forward to my mom being cookie mom for my troop this winter. Now, I'll just have to find where she hides the cookies!!
Me and my best friend, Helene are icing our Christmas cookies.   We really don't get to see each other very often, we only play together about 6 times a week. ;-)

As you can see, just the day before I got my hair cut!
My favorite foods in The Netherlands:

Appletart (like a thick apple pie with white raisins)
Applebroche (like an apple turnover-means apple sandwich- yum)
Italian Ice (a new favorite flavor is pistachio)
Chicken Doners (kebab meat in a big pita)
Yogurt drinks (they're everywhere and in lots of flavors)
Some great books I've read this fall:

Harry Potter series
A Wrinkle in Time and A Wind in the Door
The Hobbit
Ella Enchanted
Time Warp Trio series
The Chronicles of Narnia
