Colmar, France
and surrounding area
In July 2007, we drove to Switzerland.  We made 2 stops on the way down.  The first was is Namur, Belgium and the second was in Colmar, France.  Colmar is in the heart of the Alsace region, which is famous for Alsatian wine (vin d'Alsace).  Colmar is also famous for sculptor Frederic-August Bartholdi, who designed the Statue of Liberty.  In addition to Colmar we visited a quaint nearby village called Riquewihr and drove around another village called Kaysersberg. which happens to be the birthplace of Albert Schweitzer.
