The Indigo Girls are my FAVORITE band. I have loved them since I was in middle school. That was back in 1989. So they have been my favorite band for over 14 years. They are major feminists and their lyrics are so deep and meaningful. I have seen them in concert something nearly 50 times. I have traveled far to see them. I have a rule: if "the Girls" play within a 300 mile radius of me, I am there! And if they play even farther (let's say on the East Coast), I will do whatever it takes to get there! I have been lucky enough to meet them a few times as well.

Emily Saliers is the light haired one. Her songs are usually uplifting, filled with positive reasoning. Amy Ray is the brown haired one. Her songs are filled with pure passion. I used to "favor" Emily because I can usually relate to her songs better. But now, I love Amy and Emily equally. I rely on Emily for her reasoning, and her answers to the "hard questions," while I rely on Amy for her passion.

But of course I do have a "favorite." I am an Amy Ray fan through and through. I am obsessed with Amy. Her face graces every inch of my walls here at my apartment.

I like almost every song by the Indigo Girls. If you haven't listened to them, you should check them out. Amy and Emily rock! Going to their concerts were like religious expierences for me ("And it was my rebirth..."). They really are my personal goddesses.
