20 Jan 2001 -- Inaugural Protests in Washington, DC

"Don't just read history;
MAKE HISTORY!"
-- Unknown

On 20 Jan 2001 I attended the Inauguration Day protests in Washington, DC. A large number of protesters attended. In fact, this was the most heavily protested inauguration day since 1972 (Nixon). I am pleased to share some of my experiences in DC. On this site you will find pictures, first-hand accounts, and other randon tidbits about J20 2001 in DC. If you attended the protests and would like me to include your pictures and firsthand accounts on this page, please e-mail me. Thanks, and enjoy!

and fan the flame
I know you kids can stand the rain
I know the kids are still upsetters
'Cause rock is cool but the struggle is better
Go go go"

CHANTS

Here are some of the day's best chants. You do the rhyming.

"Racist, sexist, anti-gay
Bush and Cheney go away!"

"Oh no Gore's ahead
I think I'll call my brother Jeb!"

"Bush needs a brain
Cheney needs a heart!"

"Hey Bush we know you
Your father is a killer too!"

"Hey hey, ho ho,
Dubya has got to go!"

"Gore got more!!!"

"Pro-choice raise your voice!"

"Illegit...
Illegit...
Illegitimate!"
