'PLANTAGENET' LINE

Did you know that the name of 'PLANTAGENET' came about because of a flower?
The Broom flower or "Planta genista" was first worn by 'Geoffery of Anjou', father of King Henry II of England.
He was known to wear a sprig of it on his hat. The broom flower was adapted as his emblem.
