I remember now, you were with me there In the pre-existance under our Heavenly Fathers care I can see now the joy that we all had Learning all that was good from all that was bad.
Then came time for us to depart And our mortal lives we must begin to start We fell from Heaven like a feather from the skies And a veil of forgetfullness was placed over our eyes.
We were given a mother and a father who loved us very much But now we realised that we could see, feel and touch Oh what a blessing to be down here on Earth And it all started from a process called birth.
I grew from a baby, to a child, to boy Having much triumph, pleasure, happyness and joy But with the good times also came the bad And there were times that I was very unhappy and sad.
Sometimes I found my self stumbling, searching for the light Using my free agency to turn away from wrong to right I was constantly praying and searching for the truth But somehow I was misguided by all the other youth.
Then at last I found it, that road so long and straight I knew I needed to follow it before it grew too late I grew and prospered as I clung to that rod of iron And knew a place in Gods Kingdom would one day be mine.
Then came the time to fulfill my life long ambition To serve the poor and needy in an under developed mission But I was still a youth and manhood I must find And I was just trudging onward ever so blind.
I was like a knight in shining armour going to kill the beast But at times I thought I was going to be the serpents feast But Satan could not tempt me, my faith was ever so strong And I knew that what I was doing could never be wrong.
I returned from the mission as a full grown man And then had the rest of my life to plan To come home and select a worthy wife So may both be blessed with a long and fruitful life.
To be bonded together side by side So I could live with her even after I died We went forth and began to replenish the Earth But the Lord told us to cease after only the fifth birth.
Oh what a joy it was to see our children learn and grow Just as we had once before many years ago Our children had soon grown into mature adults And the example we set for them gave the greatest results.
My wife and I slowly grew old together as the years rolled by And we looked back on the years and gave a little sigh We sat and watched our grandchildren play out in the yard And realised that growing old isn't all that hard.
It finally came time for me to go to the grave But before I left I told my wife to always be brave She soon followed me out of this mortal life And we were reunited in heaven as husband and wife.
Until that great and final judgement day Where all those who had sinned had to pay Then to the glories and kingdoms that we had earned While those who were wicked will forever burn.
Then once again the veil was lifted from our mind And we remembered all the things we left behind All our previous knowledge had come clearly into view And thats when I once again recognised YOU. |
