Students Enjoying the Evening at Karan’s Farmhouse

Students of 12th class collected funds and decided to spend the evening in a farmhouse belonging to their classmate Karan Kareer. During the day they remained busy in the birthday celebrate of their school, but having untold energy they chose to spend few hours in the farmhouse, and their firmness to go there was respected by their parents. Some of them were having chauffeur driven cars and they helped their classmates by overloading their cars with them, and reached the farmhouse along with Karan, who also took a ride in his friend’s car. His mom, dad, and two sisters reached there in their Xylo car, to provide them the facility of an electric connection for DJ, arranged by the students, and also to check the lights they had already provided in the farmhouse, to enable the students to enjoy their evening.

The lawn to be used by them was manicured and it was all green in the farmhouse due to rainy season, which has given sleepless nights to our Chief Minister Sheila Dixit, who could not get the projects completed for the Common Wealth Games due to incessant rains, and the work not taken up earlier. Five big round tables along with fifty chairs were spread in the lawn, away from the DJ area to enable the students to dance with the rhythm of the DJ music. The DJ operator adjusted all the knobs and was ready to operate the machine as soon s the students arrived there. All the lights were switched on and it looked as if it was a day light. The drizzle started, but it stopped after five minutes making the organizers anxious for some time.

At about 9.35, the students started getting out of the cars outside the main gate of the farmhouse and within ten minutes the place was buzzing with the shrieks of hellos, shake hands and squeezing each other, driving pleasure meeting them once again after their school function. In a hurry they could not collect the pizzas and pasta, cold drinks, they had ordered from McDonalds and the responsibility fell on Karan’s parents, who collected the stuff and after handing over the goods to students, they left the farmhouse by 11.45 P.M. and went to their house in Inderpuri. They were very well aware of the carelessness of their wards and remained there for a pretty long time to see the arrangements, particularly providing them an alternate arrangement of power in case of outage, which is common in Delhi. They kept their big generator in place but God did not let them feel letdown though the function was arranged by the students on a blind date.

The table was laid by some students with the help of Karan’s maid and within thirty minutes they finished their dinner with Cola and Pepsi and came to the arena of DJ, and started dancing to the tune of the music. Initially they seemed tired and exhausted due to their activity in their school. After taking Pepsi or cola they came to their form and during the last one hour the music was loud and their spirits were high. The farmhouse was buzzing with activity, the students clicked their cameras and both boys and girls kicked up the activity all at once. Their presence, rhythmic dance, birdie conversation gave a stimulant to the farmhouse. The girl students went to the entertainment centre of the farmhouse and enjoyed the swings, male students remained busy with the parallel bars, and the whole area was echoing overwhelmingly with the young guns, which had grown up with their high metabolism.

Karan’s grandpa who was sharing the joy of the young students was lucky throughout his life to enjoy the company of students during his trekking programmes arranged for them by the Delhi Mountaineering Association, of which he was an office bearer. Age for him was only a number; he took part in all the activities, enjoyed life with young trekkers, keeping him young. He still remembers the youth of his age, when he went with foreign expeditions as liaison officer and experienced various skills. He could recall the experiences which flashed back on his memory all of a sudden. He generally gave the detailed account of his experiences to non-trekking friends, even if they were not interested to listen to him. His wife often told him not to bore people, with his monotonous chitchat, that gives interest to trekkers only.

Karan and his friends invited him to take part in the dance and he was anxious to do that but something restricted him to do, which he could not understand. He once gathered courage, got up to join the youngsters but felt a strong jerk in his body, restricting him to take part in their activity. During early days of his life, the word pain or sluggishness was unknown to him and he was agile as a lion in the high mountains, with no fear, determined to enjoy the scenic beauty of nature. He is perfect in health, with normal body even though he has pushed eighty by now. This is a rare chance when he kept watching them, and wished if he had been surrounded by his own friends, they would have dragged him in the ring, and he was sure the feeling of anxiety would have blown away.

The time went past and some students wanted to disperse particularly with their friends who brought them in their cars, and slowly and slowly the gathering became thin, and still there were fourteen boys who remained behind for the night. They were conversing, grinning and shrieking, but the farmhouse which was busting with the presence of all the students looked desolate, as if they had taken the pleasure of their presence with them, leaving the greenery to wail in their absence. The attraction generally blossoms if it is from both sides and it is really worth knowing whether students will also miss the environment to which they gave the humming music of their voice and the feelings of pleasure with their togetherness.
