| For questions 1-15 read the text below and think of the word which best fits each space. Use only one word in each space. There is an example at the beginning. |
| HINTS BEFORE YOU START 1) Read through the whole text first before filling any of the gaps. this will help you understand the general meaning of the text. 2) Go back and start filling in the blanks. Remember to look at the words around the gap like the grammar used and the meaning. Is the sentence positive or negative, future or past, singular or plural. 3) If you don't know a gap skip it and come back to it. Once you know the other gaps they might help you for the meaning. 4) Remember to read the paragraph again after you have finished. Check that you've only written ONE WORD for each blank. |

You are tested on your structural accuracy and some phrasal verb vocabulary knowledge. You are being tested for grammar like adverbs, articles, auxiliary and modal verbs, conjunctions, prepositions, pronouns, balance structures like as...as, more than and vocabulary. |
