Fusei Kise

Master Kise is a direct student under Grandmaster Hohan Soken. In fact he was Master Soken’s top student being promoted to Hachidan before Soken’s death. Many people give Master Kise credit for being Master Soken’s successor. Master Kise actually began his karate training under his uncle Master Macabe in 1947. He also studied Shorinji-Ryu under Zenryo Shimabukuro. Master Kise also studied Okinawan Kenpo Karate under Shigeru Nakamura and received his 7th dan in Kenpo under him. It was just two years later that Master Kise was promoted to 7th dan and instructor under Master Soken. At this time he became Master Soken’s chief instructor in Matsumura Seito Shorin Ryu. It was in 1972 that Master Kise was promoted to Hachidan. Master Kise was another one of the Masters that was willing to teach American Men that were stationed in Okinawa. Master Kise founded the Kenshinkan Karate and Kobudo Federation. He took the teachings of Matsumura Seito Shorin-Ryu and Shorinji-Ryu and founded the style of Kenshinkan which he is now the Grandmaster over this style.
