Our website is closing - but no fear we are moving!

(12/08/09) With the closing of Geocities (where this site is!) later this year the club site had to move to somewhere else - so here we are: http://chesterkarate.webs.com - please update your favourites! From October 26th 2009 the Geocities site will vanish so make a note of our new address. The site will be exactly the same, just a change of address. Please get in touch with me if you have any questions or recommendations for the website! My email is karatechester(at)yahoo.com just remove the (at) and replace with @. Thanks! The new site is up and running and all updates will be there from now on.

Aaisatsu Club Grading.

(18/06/09) A grading has been arranged! Sensei B. Higgins will be coming to Aaisatsu. It will be held at the Northgate arena on Monday 13th July 2009, session starts at 6:30 pm  to 8pm, grading starts at 8pm. Training cost is £3.50 for juniors, £5 for adults, Grading fee is £7. If you wish to grade please bring your up to date KUGB license. Please also ensure your gi is clean, no jewellery should be worn, nails are clean and short and you have no ink marks on your hands. The Aaisatsu Karate Club Committee would like all members to make every effort to attend this course and grading, and would like to thank you all for your continued support in our non-profit making club.

Budo Ka Club Grading.

(17/06/09) Sensei Roberts has kindly informed us an opportunity to train with Sensei Sherry. The course will be held at the Barton Dojo (Barton Memorial Hall, Townfield Lane, Barton, Northwich, CW8 4LH), on the 3rd of July. Training 6.30 - 7.30pm for grades upto 2nd Kyu, Black and Brown Belts 8.15 - 9.45pm cost is £5.

Two new Shodans for Aaisatsu!

(25/04/09) Congratulations goes to K. Heratige and E. Easton who sucessfully graded to Shodan under Sensei Sherry at the KUGB Black and Brown Belt course Wales!

Torbay Spring Camp.

(16/04/09) Aaisatsu members trekked down to Torbay for the Annual week long KUGB Spring Camp. 5 days of training with the KUGB's top instructors; Senseis Sherry, O'Neill, Poynton, Rhodes, Higgins and Brennan. The course involved two karate training sessions per day, with optional Bo (6ft Staff) lessons, kata competition, instructor training and grading examinations.

Double congratulations are necessary as Emma Page successfully graded to 2nd Dan (photograph below), and she also came 3rd in the Torbay Kata Competition held at the course and fellow Aaisatsu member Tom Nugent came 4th. Well done to both!

Easter Holidays.

(05/04/09) There will be no training on Good Friday and Eater Monday (10th & 13th). We wish all members and their families a happy Easter.

North Gate Arena.

(05/04/09) There is now a barrier system in place at Northgate Arena with a 50p entrance fee payable when you exit the Arena.

Tuesday night training.

(04/04/09) Please note that for the foreseeable future our Tuesday night training sessions will be held in the main hall.

Grading and Class with KUGB Chief Instructor Sensei Sherry, 8th Dan, 16th March

(21/02/09) Aaisatsu will be holding a class with Sensei Sherry followed by a Kyu grading. The class will start at 6.30pm prompt, in the Northgate Arena on Monday 16th March. (08/08/08) At the recent Lancaster Summer Karate Course, J. Bagby achieved the rank of Shodan (1st Dan).  At the course Aaisatsu club members trained with KUGB Chief Instructor Sensei Sherry, Sensei O'Neill, Sensei Poynton, Sensei Rhodes, Sensei Higgins and Sensei Brennan.
