Karate America- Wisconsin Rapids Staff Consists of Mr. Paul Welch, Mr. Mike Welch, Ms. Kristin Henkel, and, her brother, Mr. Tyler Henkel.   The senior Mr. Welch instructs the adult classes and handles the business office, while the younger Mr. Welch,  Mr. Henkel, and Ms Henkel teach the childrens classes.
Mr. Paul  Welch:
Mr. Paul Welch is the owner and chief instructor for Karate America - Wisconsin Rapids.  He began his martial arts career later in life and was in his 40's before he received his black belt in Tae Kwon Do - Chung Do Kwon.  In 1999 Mr. Welch was awarded a black belt from Karate America   In addition to his two black belts, Mr. Welch holds a belt in Modern Arnis and is a certified police D.A.A.T. (defense and arrest tactics) instructor.
The senior Mr. Welch has also been a frequent tournament competitor and has won many local, regional and national titles in both forms and sparring.
Mr. Mike Welch:
Ms. Kristin Henkel
Mr. Mike Welch is the head instructor for Karate America - Wisconsin Rapids.  He began his martial arts career when he was nine years old. He received his first degree black belt on March 15, 1996 and his second degree black belt on March 10, 1999.  He is currently a 3rd degree black belt. In addition to his Karate America Black Belt, Mr. Welch holds a brown belt and instructor certification in Modern Arnis - awarded to him by Grandmaster Remy Presis.
Ms. Kristin Henkel received her first degree black belt at Karate America Sun Prairie on March 3rd, 1999 and her second degree last June.  She came to this school in September of 2001. 
Mr. Welch is an avid tournament competitor with an impressive record of wins in both forms and sparring and most recently in weapons and team competition.  Mr. Welch is a founding member of the Karate America elite competition team - "TEAM XTREME"  He is also a member of the International Competition Team J Phillips.
Mr. Tyler Henkel
Mr. Tyler Henkel is a third degree black belt from Karate America Sun Prairie. He began teaching when he was nine years old! He just joined us this September and we're happy to have another talented instructor!  Mr. Henkel is also a member of TEAM XTREME and competes at the national level in forms and weapons.
