Beautiful UK and Ireland
In late summer of 2001, I finally got to travel the world. Ok, so it was just the UK and Ireland. That's still pretty good for a 18 year old girl. Anyhoo, here are some of my favorite pictures and experiences.
Pagans like pretty things too! Yorkshire!
Gorgeous Yorkshire Abbey. Only the 3rd most beautiful building in the world, so they say. Sorry about the blur. The English don't know the value of their old churches. This one is older than my native country, and has long since been abandoned. Again with the blur.
Look at me!
Note the bilingualism.
This is me on an ancient Roman wall! This was one way of keeping out the Barbarians, ie: the Scots.
Wales is such a beautiful country. They let the sheep run free on the hillsides, allowing the flocks to intermingle. They also don't crop their tails. Odd, but true.
But who are they??
Look upon the sea
Picturesque, isn't it? This is our hotel in Liverpool. One of the nicer ones I stayed in.
Welsh beaches are a lot like our own. This was in Marlboro. It used to be a bustling Victorian get away.

Day 14
...The ferry ride went well. At 11am, there was a 3 minute silence for the terrorism in America. I've never heard such emptiness. I about cried. It was also a Day of Mourning in most countries. Flags will be half-mast through the 22nd. There is worry by Patrick [the tour guide] that not all of our flights will be goung on as planned, especially those of us from the States. I've heard several different things about British Airways. I'll call tomorrow and get the real scoop.

Day 17

...I miss the UK allready! It has certainly charmed me. At the same time, I'm relieved. It's time to get home, especially with all that's been going on. I was hoping to spend my whole life without seeing my country go to war, but that is not so likely. I'm afraid for us all. But as Peter Pan would say, "To die would be an awefully big adventure."

Are you actually interested in my travel adventures? Would you like more pictures? More journal entries? Are you crazy?! Email me and let me know!
