Singer/Songwriter Directory
Thanks for visiting my site....
My name is Stacy Ann Evans and I am a 33 year old country singer living in Ridgetop, Tn. Ridgetop is about 20 minutes north of downtown Nashville. It is a great town, and I am lucky to live in the nice area I live in.

I live here with my fiance', our 4 poodles, 3 cats, 3 birds and a fish!
I am originally from NJ and moved here a little over 2 years ago with my fiance's job change. I didn't move to Nashville for music but knew it would be a part of my life in some way.

I have been singing most all of my life, in school chorus and then in later years I started singing karaoke, which is how I got over my terrible stage fright. After a while, I started singing in small dinner shows at local restaurants and I entered many competitions. I won many 1st place prizes and had a blast getting out there and doing what I love to do. About 4 years ago, I even sang for Good Morning America in NYC on national television. Although it was for a competition they held that year, and it was short lived, it was still a thrill!
I did a few shows in Atlantic City at Trump Marina Casino.... the excitement of the large crowds was very awesome!

Since being in Nashville, I have had the great experiance of working with one of Nashvilles most beautiful voices...
Miss Mandy Barnett! She is the best vocal coach in all of Nashville and she helped me developed more depth in my vocal stylings! She is a student of the Renee Grant-Williams Vocal Coaching. If you don't know who Renee grant-Williams is, you will if you have ever heard Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, the Dixie Chicks and most all country and pop artisits sing... she is also all of their coaches plus many many more. Visit her site and click on her client list...it's quite impressive!

Mandy is one hell of a singer and can be seen at the Grand Old Opry on most weekends.
I have had also had the pleasure of singing with 2 different local bands.
Rasin Cane and
The Back Yard Boys! Rasin Cane is a local downtown band who gave me my first tastes of singing with a live band.

My career goals are not carved in stone, as I dont believe fame and fortune are things that are a priority. I enjoy singing, and yes, although I would like to take my career far, I dont let the stresses of "making it big" overpower my love for singing and music.
I want to strive to go far but wont be devestated if I don't become famous, thats for sure. As nice as that would be, I also realize how much work it takes and even though I will work hard, that doesnt mean I will make it.
I have to be realistic and know how much competition is out there. I am certainly not the best singer in Nashville, but I am not the worst either.
So, I take it day by day and I practice more and more and do what I can to be content with my choices and my life. I have no time to be egotistical and arrogant... those things are a waste of time! I have too much to learn in this industry to ever think I am better than anyone. We all do.

A Little more about my singing style...

I love to sing a variety of music, from rock, blues, alternative, show tunes, but mainly...country! My band will be all country although I have a wonderful passion for blues and do have a strange dream of singing an old Etta James tune at a smokey blues club with just a piano player! That would be awesome!

My singing style and influences are as follows...
Reba McEntire
Etta James
Mandy Barnett
Trisha Yearwood
Wynonna
Patsy Cline

I don't "sound" like any one of them, because I like to think I have my own sound, however, I take different styles from each. Like for instance, The way Reba and Mandy use their words as emotional outlets and they make each word come across as a different feeling. And how Etta James pulls at your soul and Wynonna, the power and strength she has.

My writing style is contemporary country... pretty mainstream. I like writing songs with the listeners in mind. I write from experiance but I also write from other peoples experiances as well. Sometime soon, I will post some of my original lyrics on my site.

Come back and visit often to see more pics and to read about how it is going with the whole band making process!!
