This is an actual letter from a fan plus my response. The reason I put it up here is because my response contains the history of the band. She sent me $2 and I mailed her a copy of the CD (she lives in Joshua, TX, by the way) back in March 2002. It was our first (and only) mail-order sale!

Hey- this is Shelly, you recently sent me a cd...i
live in Texas. Anyways, thanks for sending me the
pin and stickers also. You (well mike) wrote me a
letter back and asked how i found out about you
guys, but i dont remember how, haha! I came across
your site, and thought yall looked good so i orderd
a cd. Your band is awesome...i love the sound and
the sound of your voices. your great! Um i dont
know what else to say...???
Send some general info back about you guys like, how
old you are, where or how you started, and what the
chemistry thing is about? By the way, nice
chemistry paper you wrote on. Whelp- i think ive
babbled enough.
Later chumps

well thanks for the kind words... the chemistry thing goes something like this: keith and i (mike) are both huge nerds in real life. we're both getting ph.d.'s in chemisty and that's how we met. that paper i wrote on was just some scratch paper i had on my desk at work. but remember, greg graffin (singer from bad religion) has a ph.d. in science, too! (i think it's evolutionary biology or something like that.) anyway, keith and i started playing together in october of 2000 with this guy named nick on the bass. he ditched us for a girl ( editor's note: this was in december 2000), so we put up an ad around (the UCLA)campus asking for a bass player and another guitar player. (that's were we got the name, too... the joke was that the ad should say something like "Karaoke Punk! Bring your own guitar and talent") whitney called me up and we "auditioned" him and knew he was the right guy for the band. he knew mark (bass) and i guess the four of us all played for the first time in late january of 2001. that's about it. we're going to try to record a full-length this summer and we'll let you know when it's done. (this still hasn't happened yet, but we've reserved recording time for late December, so the full-length is not just a pipe-dream).

thanks for the support!
