KARAOKE HOUSE RULES

The following are rules that we request you follow for all our Shows.

1.     One Microphone per song unless song lists as a duet in my book!

2.     Turn in only (1) song request at a time.  Our policy is sing one give one.  If you give me more than one, i cannot guarantee that i will be able to find any requests other than the one that is in the rotation.

3.     A duet counts as a song in the rotation.  A duet will count as a song in the rotation for the 1st name on the song request.  The 2nd name on the request is allowed to turn in/have a song in the request line also.

4.     Songs are listed in the books alphebetically, first by title then by artist.  Please write your name, song name and the cd number legible.   ie; SONG # 346-02.

5.     DO NOT try to use nicknames, call signs etc. to get around singing sooner in the rotation.  If you use your last name on the request, always use your last name.  Same as first name or nickname.  If you are caught using multiple names to sing sooner, Using someone else’s name to gain access to the microphone, you will be placed at the end of the NEXT rotation.  If this occurs again, you will not sing the remainder of the night.  This is only fair to ALL THE OTHER SINGERS!!

6.     Please do not hit, tap, or bang the head of the mic.  If you break it, you buy it! If you need to check if the mic is on, talk into it!!

7.     If your new to singing, position the microphone about 2” away from your mouth.  this is the best position for maximum pick-up.  Remember, your chin, cheek or chest DOES not sing!  DO NOT turn the mic into the speakers!! This will damage not only my equipment, BUT ALSO the ears of all in the club!

8.     Please do not cup the head of the mic.  Not only will you get a lot of feedback, You’ll just sound bad and I may have to turn your volume on your mic down or even off!  THIS IS NOT MTV!!

9.     All microphones have a on and off switch on the side of the mic.  Please check if it is on before you sing. (there will be a green light on)

10.   The “Challenge.  I allow one challenge per nite.  It a song is sung and you want to “Challenge” it, you may as long as there has been no other challengers.  this is not to belittle the previous singer, just that you think you can do it better!! If you have a song in the rotation, It will be placed at the end of the rotation for your right to challenge!!

11.   At clubs where the singer is on stage, only one person is allowed on stage at a time unless it is a duet. This is due to safety reasons where there is much gear on stage, for your safety and to my equipment!

12.   I do not take bribes or any other service to bump you up in the rotation or make sure you get your song in by the end of the nite.  We are in a strict rotation and the motto is, “ If you want to sing more, show up early!!”  tips are allowed but will not get any special treatment.

13.   If there is a disagreement about who is right or wrong, i will always try to come to a happy medium with you, but if you are drunk, pissed off or just being an a##hole  I the KJ Will have the final word.  If problems persist, then the management will be involved!

These rules are to ensure you have a wonderful nite of Karaoke!  99% of singers do not need rules, but the 1% is the reason I need to post them.   Have fun and please come back!!
