Dr Fobi is one of the most compassionate people that I know. And even though this man could be in the DR's hall of fame he is a very humble man who truly believes in what he is doing and he does it well, very well. I lived in San Diego when I had the surgery done and I did not mind in the least driving up to his office in Bellflower for all the appts. His office staff thats he has surrounded himself with is very good and friendly...yet VERY busy. But they always find the time (even Dr Fobi himself) to say hello to you. They have a great support group for both pre & post op patients as a matter of fact they require it prior to having the surgery. The tell you like it is all the way no "fluff" if you will. Yes the surgery is a fantastic way to lose weight but there are risks of course as with any surgery. 1 in 500 die from it, more like die from complications from it that the surgery itself and they pull no punches when it comes to telling you this. Was it worth it..HELL YES I would do it 10 more times if I had to because the quality of my life has tripled since the surgery and I am only 8 weks post op. Dr Fobi is the doctor I am trying to see. Time will tell if managed care will let me see him. I have looked at a lot of procedures and I think this procedure would be best for me. Only time will tell if this is true.

I had my surgery on October 12th. Dr. Fobi and his surgeons are the best there is. I developed complications that were beyond the surgeons control and I can say that I got the best medical care there is. The doctors were caring, wonderful people. I just can't say enough about them.

Haven't had a consultation yet with Dr. Fobi, but I have heard so many great things about him. Yes I have heard very few negative things too, but the positive feedback far outweighs the negative. Besides, if he is half as warm and caring as the two ladies on his staff that I have spoken with (Ella and Kristie), then he must be a terrific person. I am looking forward to seeing and speaking with him and the rest of his staff.I am also hoping that I will have the golden opportunity of having him deliver me into my new life, my rebirth.

The office is very helpful and act like they care and are willing to answer any questions. I called other doctors and just by the way the office staff acted i quickly weeded them out. The aftercare program seems excellent and i have felt the need for a support group and to talk to people in my position and have had lots of help from dr. fobi's office. waiting for a surgery date but so far A+. Im scheduled for nov 3rd so ill update soon wish me luck!!!Today is nov 5th and im totally disgussted!!! i was humiliated, brutility scarred from incompetent people on dr. fobis staff i came home and now mught have permanent damage to my right hand!!! the assisting surgeon dr hoil lee actually said to me and my wife he wish i wasnt so damn fat because its too much work!!! this is coming from a center that is supposed to specialize in obese patients.....it took two hours of misery to get the main line artery in and he still couldnt do it there was blood everywhere and i was freaking out and begging him to call someone else.....he got very aggresive and stuck harder that is when i felt a shock...thats when the sensation left my hand....than he said that hed put me out and id most likely die......(can u beleive that?) than they took me into OR and while he was trying to intubate me fully awake he whispered in my ear....(your going to die!!!!) i got up and decided to stay fat alittle while longer in order to live......please if anyone has any bad experiences with dr.fobis office please e-mail me amd let me know

I have known Dr. Fobi since August 1997 when he performed surgery on my 650lb father. He is a very knowledgeable surgeon. I had surgery in July, 1999 and feel great! My recovery time was 3 weeks and I was back to work. All of my health problems have dissappeared! Dr. Fobi's staff is wonderful. Fortunately my insurance (CIGNA) approved my surgery without question. His staff is instrumental in dealing with difficult insurance companies in many cases. The post-op care has been great. I even had a check up when Dr. Igwe (an associate surgeon) came to visit Reno. Dr. Fobi and his team Drs. Lee, Igwe, and Felahy have been recognized as the best surgeons time and time again! I honestly did not have any bad experiences following my surgery. For me, it was a "cake walk" and now I can eat cake and not think about the calories!!! I have made the best decision for my health and the future of my family.

He was and is, excellent. Excellent skills and knowledge. However, his office has delays of several hours, with an appointment. His staff is excellent and he has 6 free support groups a month and a clothing exchange program.

My surgeon was great, he was very caring and one of the first doctors that didn't make me feel like my weight was my fault. The office was very busy, the staff seemed caring, but busy. I was very involved in tracking the insurance approval and corresponding with the staff. I was very impressed with the aftercare follow-up by the staff even though I live very far away. I have had two follow visits since my surgery and will be going in the first of November for my almost one year check up. The surgery and risk where made very clear to me and the doctors spent alot of time with me discussing the surgery. I would rate Dr. Fobi as top notch and his staff as well. I really liked the other doctor that did rounds in the hosipital post op. I had a great experience! :)
