In the beginning, Mopar created the K-car, and it was good. Over the years it blossomed and grew, evolving into a sturdy workhorse with a playfull nature. Many a tale has been told of its experiences, both fourtunate and inopportune. It was loved by all who knew it, and tolerated by those who didn't.
But one night, after an especially difficult day, its life came to an end. An evil demon, of the Honda faith, did block its path of travel and the resulting bedlam crumpled its once proud prow in upon itself. Subsequent efforts to restore its visage were futile, as the years had taken their toll and left it weak, unable to be rehabilitated.
But from the ashes rose a glimmer of hope as a new bearer of the torch was found. A 1990 Chrysler Daytona stepped up to take the K-car's place, bringing with it a 150hp V6, a 5-speed transmission and bright red paint. What could be salvaged from the past was transefered to the present, as a CD deck & changer and front/rear speakers moved from their old home.
But the K-car still stood proud, although scarred, and traveled with its replacement 80 miles to its final resting place in its original hometown. It sits, chrome scratched and tarnished but gleaming still, selflessly donating its vital parts so that others of its kind may live long, healthy lives. Stories are still told over drink and song of its life and accomplishments. And it remains a joyfull memory for all who knew it, forever...
...Pretty corny I know, but I'm going to miss that car. I'll post some pix of its final state as soon as I get them. In the meantime, I'll be working on a new page for the Laser. But I'll keep this page up and running because I'm still getting letters from people about it. And to all the K-faithfull out there, thank you for your past support of this site and keep sending in pics of your cars as I'll try and keep this updated somewhat. In the meantime, enjoy the features!
