About Kayney Quilting...
I offer custom longarm machine quilting services. The information on hand dyeing and the photo gallery on this site are strictly for your amusement. :)
Here are some answers to frequently asked questions about my quilting:
* I am usually booked at least six months ahead, and cannot accomodate rush work. If you are looking for a machine quilter who can get to your quilt before then, you might want to check the "Machine Quilters for Hire" list found on about.com.
* I do not have a published price list. The majority of my work is custom, and I give a price based on seeing the actual quilt top. If you have a price range in mind, please let me know when you bring your quilt in -- that way I can design quilting that will complement your quilt, and still stay in your budget.
* My quilting machine is not one where you can "push a button and walk away." This is a hand guided machine, where the position and length of every single stitch is based on how I move the machine. The machine weighs about 100 pounds, and is on a set of tracks that are 14' long. I spent about 200 hours practicing before taking my first customer quilt in 1999.
* While I have battings and backings on hand for the convenience of my customers, I am really not set up to sell quilting supplies or fabrics. We also do not offer quilting classes. If you are looking for classes or supplies, please visit your local quilt store. I'm always more than happy to recommend several good ones in the area.
* My machine is not for rent, nor do I sell quilting machines. If you are interested in your own machine, please contact a quilting machine dealer or manufacturer. Two that I have had great luck with in the past are The Quilted Rose and Linda's Electric Quilters.
If you are looking for our physical location, we are at 5 Purity Plaza, which is the corner of West St. and Main St. in Woodland. Kayney Quilting is located inside Kayney Paints and Decorating Center.
