Joyce Jimenez was born in Los Angeles, California, USA of Filipino migrant parents on March 21, 1978. Her real name is Joyce Reintegrado. Since her real surname sounds ungainly for a screen name, Joyce took up Jimenez at the instance of her talent manager who randomly picked the name from the telephone directory.

Joyce grew up in Los Angeles where she finished high school. She was accepted at UCLA but had to forgo schooling to come to the Philippines. So what really made her put off her studies?

In 1996, Joyce joined a pageant, the Miss Philippines-Hollywood. Although she did not win the title, she was adjudged Miss Photogenic. It so happened that one of the judges is a movie talent manager who asked Joyce to get in touch with her once she goes to the Philippines. Joyce did just that when she visited Manila in 1997. That is when Joyce had a change of name and started her movie acting career.

Joyce career started with forgettable supporting roles in more than half a dozen movies. She became an instant hit when she starred and unrobed (two nude scenes including a frontal shot) in the 1999 movie Scorpio Nights 2. She became an instant celebrity. That started the string of sex-flavored movies she starred in. In fact, some of these films initially got X ratings from the Film Classification Board. That is how hot Joyce movies are.

Scorpio Nights 2 made Joyce Jimenez a celebrity overnight. And, overnight, Joyce Jimenez became the object of men's fantasies.

But try meeting her in person and what do you get? A sweet, thoughtful woman with a heart of gold and as cheerful as a child!

Body and brains... Could one ask for more?

The Beauty comments on the body painting photos, Joyce to the World:
"Body-painting was something I had never tried, but the idea was so cool because there's that whole play on illusion and perception. At first glance, it's like you're wearing something and then as you realize what is going on, you do the "double-take" and realize there's nothing on the body but paint. That whole play on perception reminds me of my profession. You see what's on screen and people judge and generalize based on the sexy roles I play on screen, forgetting that there's a person behind the roles that's completely different from what they see."
