Trust In Me Chapter 33 *** In London*** Kevin sat in the hotel room waiting for Becca to be ready to go out to dinner. She had been in the bathroom for over an hour. He hoped she hurried up...cause he was sorta hungry (plane food never filled him up), plus he really needed to use the bathroom...he drank a couple water bottles on the flight over to London. He got the room next Nick's and Melanie's. Those two hadn't shut up since the second they got off the plane. For a while, they weren't even speaking, but now it was like they had mindless conversation after mindless conversation. Kevin reminded himself to find out what was up with his little buddy and his 'kid sis'. He was curious just how serious there relationship really was. After a few more minutes of waiting, he heard creaking noises coming from the room closest to his bed....that was Nick's room. ***In Mel and Nicky's Room*** Melanie soared higher as she jumped up and down on their huge king size bed. Nick (dressed in solely a pair of khacki cargo pants) watched her from the corner, her dark hair bouncing up and down in its ponytail. He wished he could join her jumping, but the both of them flying up and down on the mattress probably wouldn't be the best idea. Petite as Melanie was, the bed was rocking. She laughed, and made funny faces at him as his head bobbed up and down (and excuse me for using this term) in sync with her jumping. "Mel...you're so funny!" "Oh ya, why do you say that babe?" "Cause one minute I was in the shower, and the next thing I know, I come out and I find you out here jumping up and down on our bed!" "Ohh don't be silly...I'm just in a good mood! Plus, I needed to take my mind off the thought of you naked in that shower!" She continued to hop up and down. "I haven't done this in years...its sooooo much fun!" "I can see that," he said between laughs. "Our bed, is that what you just said?...Who said you were sleeping in here with me?" Her sly smile teased him sexily. "I did baby..." His eyebrows wiggled. "Now i'm coming to get ya!!" he shouted playfully, as he dived on the bed scrambling to pull her feet and keep her from jumping on him. ***Back to Kevin*** Becca walked out of the bathroom with just her bathrobe on. Kevin ran to her, kissed her cheek quick, and hurried to the bathroom. After a few seconds he revealed himself once again. "My gosh...can you believe those two. We JUST got here, and already they're getting it on. Nick moves pretty fast...Geeze me and you dated for almost a year before I had the pleasure." "And now you see that good things come to those who wait." He smiled, "I know..." pulling her closer by the tie of the robe, "That's why Ive got you." ***Mel and Nick's** Nick had finally succeeded in stopping her jumping. Next, he tickled his way up her legs, pulling her down onto the bed by her waste. He positioned himself over her so that he was in prime tickling position. She surrendered to his wandering hands, moaning for him to let her have a chance at tickling him back. The bed continued to rattle as they shook it back and forth. "Nick...baby!" she struggled for more breath, the tickling was leaving her speechless. "Nick not there...it tickles too much!" ***Kev and Bec's room*** Becca finished getting ready, while Kevin tried to resume reading the novel he had started on the plane. It was no use. The creaking noises were too much for him to concentrate. And their wails were too much for him to bare. The mental picture alone, of his LITTLE buddy, and his almost kid sister, was just grossing him out! Throwing his book to his side, he decided he would quiet them down a bit. He got up and headed towards their connecting door. He knocked loudly. "Nick....guys...some people ARE trying to relax. The least you could do, is keep it down. And gosh guys...it's only like six at night!" Not realizing that the door was unlocked, his fierce knocking caused the door to open slightly. "KEVIN!!!" Nick shouted. "Uhhh...sorry guys...I didn't mean to..ahh interrupt." He shielded his eyes with his arm. Mel shouted back, "Wait Kevin...it's ok..we weren't doing anything." His face turning a shade darker of red, "Well, it sure sounded like..." "No, no, no." Nick cut in. Kevin walked in their room to find them on the bed in a heap...completely dressed (except for Nick's lack of shirt). He laughed, now even more embarrassed. "I see...oops." "Kev, I was jumping on the bed...then he tackled me. We were just playing around." Mel confessed. "Ya man, we were just playing. You barged in before it led to anything more." Mel threw a pillow at Nick..."I heard that Nicky...where were you sleeping again?" "Funny babe," he smirked. "Sorry guys, didn't mean to walk in uninvited. Won't happen again. See you two later....I think Becca's calling me." ***In Brian's Hotel Room*** He stretched out across the hotel bed...he squiggled uncomfortably. The mattress was lumpy and it didn't even compare to home. He yawned, tired from the long day and his unfortunate goodbye. The truth was, he was bored. It was the first time in weeks that they had some down, and he simply didn't know what to do with himself. Michelle wasn't there to make him smile, keep him occupied in ways only she knew how. He had to get her off her mind. He sat up, got his swim trunks from his suitcase, and decided to hit the indoor pool for a while. He would ask Howie to come along...and maybe AJ too. The water always relaxed them...and it was prime time to spend a guy's night out. He rounded up the gang (minus two...Nick who was taking Mel out for a night on the town, and Kevin who was taking Becca ballroom dancing) and they lounged in the pool area. ***Back to Bec and Kev's Room*** "Kevin...phone....it's Fatima!" Bec screamed too him as he walked back from Nick's room. He took the phone from her pink painted fingertips. "Hey Fatima...what's shakin'?" "Well, I'll tell you what ain't shakin'. The booties of two of your tour dancers!" "Huh? Whatcha talking about?" "Kev hun, two of our dancers canceled with us last minute." "Oh shit...when did this happen?" "They announced to me this morning before rehearsal that they would be leaving the BSB troop and..get ready for this Kev...joining *NSYNC's dancing clan." "Damnit...talk about the ultimate slap in the face. Why them...anyone else but them!" "I know. But right now we've got bigger troubles. Where are we gonna find two kick-ass dancers less than a week before the tour starts up?" Kevin frowned, but a growing smile began to emerge." I think I've got something here!" "Well Kev, for all our sakes, I hope your right. I'll be on the lookout for dancers, but in the meantime, start rehearsing with who you've got." "Okay, Fatima...I'll be in touch. See ya tomorrow. What time is your flight in from Florida? "9:30...see ya soon Kev...and oh...let the others know too. Hugs, and oh I almost forgot. I've got something else to share with the guys tomorrow. It's a secret 'til then. Buh bye!" "What's up?" Becca questioned, seeing the perplexed look on his face as he hung up the phone. " 'Tima has a surprise for us all tomorrow." "Oh I bet I know..." Kevin cut her off, "But that's not it. We're out 2 dancers for the show." "Oh that's definitely not the way to start a tour," she smiled, "But hey Kevin, if all else fails, you could just stand up there and do your little butt shaking number!" "Cute sweetie...real cute! I've got some girls in mind actually." "Girls...what girls?" "I gotta call AJ first though." "AJ...why AJ?" "Cause he's the only one who probably has Christine's new phone number. And how do you know about that surprise?" ***Poolside*** "Hey Rok...hand me that towel." Brian handed AJ the oversized beach towel as 'J scrambled out of the pool, and onto the lounge chair next to Brian's. "Thanks man." Brian started, "Hey guys, what do you think our girls are doing right now back home?" Howie laughed slightly, "If it's Friday...Sel's getting her nails done. She always gets them done on Fridays." "Hmmm I think just about now, Anna's watching me on the concert video...Hey Mr. DJ probably cause that's her favorite...missing me and my pelvic thrusts!!" "Thanks 'J ...nice mental picture that I didn't need man..." Bri joked. "No prob buddy, What is Michelle up to?" "Oh I dunno, working on a story maybe." ***In Michelle's Apartment-NY*** She walked in her bedroom, leaving the lights off, letting the darkness surround her. She took the paper out from her bag. She unfolded the pages, letting the front page stare back at her. The title popped out, hitting her heart like a bullet sent to kill. "BACKSTREET ABANDONMENT-This Boy Doesn't Want His Baby Back!"By Michelle Lucen She cried. Tear on top of tear. "Oh god...I have to tell him. This is gonna kill him and it's all my fault. How could I have been so stupid?" She picked up the phone and dialed the numbers. She waited to hear the familiar voice on the other end. *** AJ entered the bathroom, letting the sound of the hot water hitting Anna's body soothe him. An aroma of coconut mixed with traces of summer, floated out from the shower and into the bathroom where he stood, completely undressed. He could see the outline of her slender body through the shower curtain. Her attractive profile turned him on intensely. The mirror fogged, and the heat in the small room, as well as within him, was getting too hot for him to bare. He drew back the shower curtain and stepped in. He was about to capture her soapy waist around his fingertips, when suddenly a beach ball flew and knocked him awake. "Oh...GOD...ugh Anna?" He sat up straight, rubbing his eyes, adjusting to the light, and the fact that the feeling growing between hi legs was far from be satisfied. Reality crashed down on him as he saw Brian in the chair next to him, reading a comic book. "Sleep okay 'J?" Brian asked as a wicked grin appeared on his face for no apparent reason. "Oh Ya, my nap was just peachy. I always love waking up alone, because a beach ball hits me in the face." "I thought so. It's all right man. I miss my girl too." *** Melanie picked up her ringing cell phone as Nick retreated to the bathroon to put a shirt on. She sighed thinking it was a shame for him to cover up that hot chest. "Hello!" "Hey Mel...how are you?" "I'm fine, but Michelle, you don't sound so good? What's wrong?" "Well, besides the fact that my life is falling apart. I'd say I'm just fine." "Oh god, what are you talking about?" "So, I guess you haven't see a copy of today's NY GAZZETTE?" "No why?" "OKay, that's good. At least Brian probably hasn't seen it yet either." "Michelle what's going on? You're scaring me." "Mel, please you're my best friend. You have to promise me. Really promise not to tell a soul..not even Nick." "Mich of course, what's wrong?" "Remember that article I was supposed to write all those months back about Brian and Karen." "Ya, but you told us that you weren't gonna write it." "Exactly. But guess what." "I hate guessing games, and this one is taking a turn for the worse. What?" "Somehow all my old notes, the ones I thought I had destroyed, ended up in a front page article about Brian." "Okay, so you didn't have anything that bad in your notes, right?" "I didn't. But liars tend to stretch the facts just a bit." "How much are we stretching here?" "Let's just say they practically accuse Brian of leaving his ex girlfriend with no money and a newborn baby to care for all by herself. And that's just the half of it." "Oh shit! Damn, who's 'they' Michelle?" She cried, letting out a wimper over the phone. "That's the worst part. MY name is in the byline. It says I wrote that trash! Oh Mel, what am I gonna do. He's gonna read it. I didn't write it, I swear." "I know that Mich. Come on, I know you. You'd never do that to anyone, let alone him. We'll figure something out. Hang in there. You've got to tell him, you know that right." "I know. But everytime I try, It's just too hard." Nick walked in the room, dressed and ready to leave. "Mel, baby, come on. I'm hungry!!" "Ok Nick, just a second. You ate a burger just an hour ago!" "Alright, Alright...who put you in a bad mood?" "I'm not in a mood...but I am on the phone. Be quiet!" "Sor-ry!" (Back to Michelle on the phone) "Sorry, Nick was being a pain." "Mel, you can't tell him. Please. If Nick knows, Brian will know in a second. Let me find a way to tell Brian myself." "Ok, I promise. Nick won't hear it from me." She hung up the phone slowly, the events of the conversation still registering in her head. "Who was that?" "Ohh, no one Nick." "That was a pretty intense conversation to be no one." "It was my mom." She struggled for a believable lie. "She had a fight with my brother." "Oh ...everything ok? "Ya, it seems that way now." He took her hand, and led her out the door. "We're headed to my favorite clocktower!" "You have a favorite clocktower Nick?" "Ya...why wouldn't I ?" he said genuinely puzzled. "Nevermind hunny. It's just that normal people..."she stopped, silently reminding herself that Nick was anything but normal. "Nevermind hun." ***In a Recording Studio in NY*** "Anna, you're singing that note too flat. Come on, if all of us other girls can sing it right, you should be able to also." "Okay, sorry everyone. Let me have that beat again...1,2,3..." She sighed to herself. "These Innocense girls were a piece of work. I just got here, and already they've decided i'm not worthy of their harmony. Ugh, I wish AJ were here." "Come on...Anna...Daydreaming again, I suppose. From the top...1,2,3!" *** Michelle changed into Brian's oversized Kentucky shirt. It smelled like him, and it felt like his arms were surrounding her in a big bear hug. Not even close to reality. She snuggled under the covers, and grabbed her phone. She beeped Brian. "143-143-143" (translation....I love you....I love you...etc.) *** AJ grabbed his ringing cell phone from off the patio table. " 'J here!" "Hey Bone, it's Kev. I need to know...." He was cut off by AJ's impression of Marc Anthony..."Tell me baby girl cause I need to know...I need to know!!" "Oh AJ..shut up for a sec!" Kev laughed. "Sorry. What's up man?" "Do you have Christine's new number?" "Christine, as in my EX, Christine?" Brian looked up at Howie with the mention of Christine. He remembered her from a while back. The girl was hot...and damn those legs of hers went on for miles. She had been a dancer, became an EX dancer when AJ met Anna. Brian snapped back to reality with the vibrations from his beeper. "That's the one. We need her back as a dancer." ***In Florida*** Fatima looked down, patting her belly. "Oh gosh kid, you sure know how to kick...must've got that from Daddy! They're gonna be so darn surprised. Wait 'til Kevin hears. He's gonna flip." ***In Sel's NY Apartment*** "Okay, that's it. Shirts, pants, dress, socks, undies, bras. Hairspray, gel, three different brushes, nail file, gum, perfume. That's it. I'm on my way." A figure appeared in the doorway. "Sel...wait...you can't go!" "Eric...???" ***NY GAZZETTE*** Karen leaned back in her chair as Michelle's boss surrounded Karen from behind. He enveloped her in victory kisses. "That's it babe...you were right, the pictures were definitely worth the wait." "See, I told you. Did you send that limited edition to the Plaza in London?" "Of course...UPS:Next Day Air Mail." "Do you think we'll be able to hear the screams across the English Channel?" "If we're lucky." ***Franklin: A Small Town in Massachusetts*** "I don't understand. I thought my daughter loved him. Why would she write this...on the front page? Something's wrong. I've got to speak to Michelle...if Brian sees this...I guess I won't be visiting Kentucky anytime soon." ***In LA, California*** Christine stretched into a deeper split. She brought her hands forward, touching the sole of her foot, then brought her legs together, ending the split. She returned to the workout bar, next to Stephanie, her best friend. "I just can't get a good stretch today. My toes are still too sore from going up on point all day yesterday." Stephanie moved in front of the mirror, put her legs into 1st position and began warming up for their daily round of dance routines. "I know. Mine are too. Hey Chris...you haven't heard from your Backstreet Boy lately, have you?" "Steph, for the hundredth time, he's not MY Backstreet boy. He's with that bitch of a girl, Anna now." "I see...no resentment there huh Chris??" She sniffled a laugh. "Sorry...it was just that you had a good thing going with him. You were their star dancer." "Ya, I know. It's funny how all that changes when you break up with a BOY." "Ya, it's funny all right." Next: Chapter 34 |
