Then and Now Chapter 13 Ang sat on her deck waiting for the group to arrive. The sun was just starting to set and she knew they'd be there within the hour. Brian had called her from the road telling her they'd left early that morning so they'd probably reach the cabins just after sundown. She headed back inside the cabin to grab a drink. Kevin drove down the gravel road behind Nick. They had to be close now, he thought with a smile. At least they were able to spend more then a few days there, after such a long drive it wouldn't have been worth it to just stay for a week, in fact the group was staying for almost three weeks. Nick parked his durango in the driveway behind Ang's truck and honked his horn. Aimee opened her eyes. "That's a nice way to wake people up." Nick looked over at her. "Sorry, I was telling Ang we're here." he glanced in the rearview mirror and saw that Brian, Han and Lis were awake. "Hey sleepyheads." Brian looked up. "Hey Nickykins." Bri said in a girly voice causing all three girls to crack up. Nick went red. "Nice B, really mature." AJ and Krys jumped out of the jeep, D and Jenn right behind them. "My legs!" AJ moaned, walking around the jeep. "Oh grow up Bone." Kevin said, climbing out. "Don't fight guys, we went the whole day without fighting don't start now." Nina said tiredly. Kevin nodded his agreement and wrapped his arm around his girlfriend's waist. Ang ran out the front door. "I thought I heard voices!" she yelled, running to Brian. "Didn't you hear Frack honk the horn?" Aimee asked, smiling at her friend. Ang shook her head. "He didn't?" Brian walked around the side of the Durango. "He did. First we thought it was a strange new mating call but then we realized no just Nick hitting the horn on the Durango." Ang laughed. "Same old Frick and Frack." She gave Brian a big hug. Hannah walked around the Durango and stopped dead in her tracks, staring at Brian hugging the girl. She turned around and walked back to the other side. Lis saw her friend's movement and walked over . "Han you ok?" Han turned around. "Oh great. Why do you ask?" She asked with a phony smile. "Oh cut it out Han. I know you and your ticked at something. Is it about B?" Han shrugged and sat down in the passenger seat. "If it was would it be stupid?" "No, but you always say he's just a distraction." Han moved the hair out of her eyes and looked at her friend. "What if I don't see him that way anymore?" Brian let go of Ang and smiled at her. "Man you look the same." He said smiling at her. "Thanks B, warm welcome!" Ang teased. "Sorry." he turned around and looked at the group unloading their suitcases. "So the girls are in here with me and you guys are in the next cabin over." Ang said, her arm around Brian. Brian looked back at the cabin. "This place is huge." "Yep and so is the one you guys are at." AJ walked over. "Ang! Babe how ya doing?" he asked, grinning at her. "I'm good Bone, how was the drive?" AJ rolled his eyes. "I got stuck with D and Kevy." Ang laughed. "You were bored the whole trip?" "You got that right, although the stops provided the entertainment portion of the trip." AJ smirked at B. Ang looked at her best friend. "And Bone would mean what exactly?" Brian blushed and looked away. "Well Han spilled her drink on me so I..." "B dumped his water bottle all over her. Looked like she just walked out of the shower." AJ finished. Ang laughed. "SO let me meet this girl my best bud is so enamored with." She said looking around. AJ turned around. "Hmm haven't seen her and Lis they should be around here though." Krys, Jenn and Nina all walked over then, struggling to carry their bags. "Hi Ang." Nina said, setting her bags down on the driveway. "Hey guys, let me guess you want to go to your rooms to put the bags away?" Krys nodded. "I don't think my arms can take much more." "Ok then lets go. Bone if you see Han and Lis send them in, and I'll show them where their bunking." Ang said leading the girls inside. AJ nodded then turned to Brian. "This is gonna be a fun three weeks." he said smiling. Brian shook his head. "Oh be quiet AJ." and with that he headed to find Nick. Next: Chapter 14 |
