A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes Chapter 7 Kevin finished the song and introduced Nick. As Nick started "I Need You Tonight," Kevin led Kristy backstage to a small room with more props and equipment. Kristy hugged him and he held her close. "That was incredible! YOU are incredible!" she said against his neck, enjoying the feel of his arms around her once again. Kevin pulled back, and reaching into his suit pocket, pulled out a single, shiny copper penny. "For you," he said, holding it out for Kristy. She looked up at his face, meeting his twinkling eyes with her own. He gently turned her towards a wishing well that sat in the center of the room with a half-dozen candles on either side of it's base. Kristy turned back to Kevin with a look of surprise on her beautiful face. He just smiled at her and nodded his head slightly towards the well. She took the penny, and stepping to the well, closed her eyes and wished with all her might. She tossed the penny up, and after she heard a small splash, opened her eyes to see Kevin standing right next to her. Kristy felt like she was acting out the scene in her story. Kevin raised his hand to caress her cheek and bent his head down, hesitating slightly as his eyes searched hers. She smiled and answered him with her eyes. Kevin then gently brushed his lips over hers... once, twice... before claiming them with his own. The kiss continued, both of them holding each other close, savoring the moment and the sweetness of it all. The kiss ended and Kristy smiled up at Kevin, continuing to play her part. "Could I have another penny?" she asked, her eyes twinkling. Kevin smiled back, then tried to look slightly confused, "Why?" "I need to make another wish, since my first one already came true!" she answered, and like in her story, was rewarded with another sweet, gentle kiss. "I'm afraid you'll have to take a raincheck for dinner..." Kevin said as they heard the crowd's screams as Nick finish his song. Brian soon started singing, and they knew they only had a few minutes left before Kevin had to be back on stage. "After the show's over, just stay in your seats and one of the guards will come get you and Toni and bring you backstage." Kristy smiled and willingly accepted another long kiss from Kevin before they heard someone clear his throat behind them. They looked up to see the same security guard as before, ready to escort Kristy back to her seat. "Enjoy the rest of the show," Kevin said, his voice deep and smooth in Kristy's ear as he hugged her once more. "I will... but I'm pretty sure this was my favorite part!" she laughed and gave him a quick kiss before she left.Kristy rejoined Toni as Brian was finishing "That's What She Said." "And where have YOU been?" Toni laughed, seeing Kristy's bright smile and flushed skin. Kristy grinned and said, "Chapter 13!" Toni looked at her quizzically, "Remind me..." "Magic Kingdom. Before dinner. Near the castle..." she hinted. "The wishing well?" Toni asked, as Kristy nodded. She was now grinning too and guessed, "First kiss?" "And second," she giggled as Toni nodded, thinking of the story. "And third and fourth for that matter!" "Hey! That wasn't in the story!" Toni laughed. "We improvised!" Kristy's face lit up as the boys all joined Brian on stage for "Don't Wanna Lose You Now." Kevin stood in front of Kristy as he and Brian harmonized, "Whatever reason to leave that I've had... My place was always beside you... And I wish that I didn't need you so bad... Your face just won't go away." "She's so lucky!" Kristy heard a group of young girls behind her say, as Kevin blew her a kiss. And Kristy knew they were right. She was very lucky. After two encores, the concert was over and the arena started to empty. Kristy and Toni sat down for the first time in over two hours and waited for someone to come for them. "I think I'm deaf," Toni laughed, "And it had very little to do with the volume of the music!" "It's a wonder they can hear themselves to sing!" Kristy agreed, "But they sound just as good live as they do on their albums." Toni nodded in agreement, "I was impressed. They put on an incredible show. But enough small talk. I want details!" Kristy giggled and described the wishing well and candles Kevin had set up backstage. "I bet that's what Kev meant about 'last-minute pre-concert stuff'," she guessed. She limited her description to the setting and how Kev pulled the penny out of his pocket for her like in her story, but kept the details of the kiss to herself. Toni could see she didn't want to share the private stuff, and respected her for it. Obviously, Kristy wasn't the "kiss-and-tell" type. After a few more minutes, one of the BSB security team came for them to take them backstage. There were a lot more people back there now, including many fans with backstage passes from the local radio stations. Kristy and Toni stood on the outskirts of the group, letting the others have their chance to meet the guys. "You're Kevin's Kristy," a short girl with curly red hair said as she approached Kristy and Toni. She was with a group of her friends, all about 14-16 or so. "Well, I am Kristy, but I'm not sure about the 'Kevin's' part," Kristy smiled. She didn't want to start any rumors that would upset the BSB fans, or Kevin. "He called you 'his Angel of Music'," another girl in the group pointed out. "And 'his Princess'!" the redhead added. "Did you really write those lyrics?" a taller brunette with the group asked. She looked to be in her mid-twenties and was probably one of the girls' older sisters. Kristy nodded and smiled slightly. She was feeling a little uncomfortable with all this attention. "I don't believe it!" a small blond with heavy makeup challenged. Kevin was a few feet away from the group, talking to a young fan and her dad with Brian when he noticed the group closing in on Kristy and Toni. The small blond continued, "I know I've read those lyrics somewhere before. You probably stole them, just so you could meet Kevy-Kev." Kristy was a little taken back. She guessed she should've expected some hostility... she'd seen some pretty nasty things written about the Brian, AJ and Nick's girlfriends on the internet... but she was hardly in the same class. She had just met Kevin, and even she didn't know what was going to happen to them. She was about to calmly explain that she had indeed written the words to Kevin's song, when Kevin walked up to her and put his arm around her waist. "So I see you ladies have met my gal. What did you think of her amazing lyrics?" he smiled warmly at Kristy and looked expectantly at the group of young fans. "I really liked them!" the redhead offered with a shy smile. "Me too!" several of the other girls agreed. The short blond looked at Kevin with adoration, then back at Kristy with dislike. "I was just saying how I thought I'd read those lyrics somewhere before..." she smirked at Kristy. "Oh? Where?" Kevin asked, his gaze fixed on the young girl. Kristy didn't envy her... Kevin could be pretty intimidating when he wanted to be. "Th... the internet, I think," she stammered. Kevin looked thoughtful, "Could be. Ever read any fanfic?" The girl nodded, obviously in awe of Kevin. He continued, "Well then, this IS your lucky day. Kristy is the author of a story called "Once Upon a Time"... like the song. That's probably where you saw the lyrics." The redhead gasped, "You're THAT Kristy?!" Kristy blushed and nodded. Kevin gave her a little squeeze. "Oh my gosh!" one of the other girls exclaimed. "You ARE 'The Angel of Music' that wrote that story!" Kevin chuckled, "She is!" "I really liked your story," another one of the girls added. Several of them nodded, watching Kevin and this girl standing close together. "So did I," Kevin said, his voice deep and sexy. Kristy felt his breath against her cheek and suddenly was feeling a little flushed. "Well girls, it was nice to meet you. If you'll excuse us, there's someone who wants to meet Kristy." He moved her away from the group and led her through the crowd towards a door on the opposite side of the room. They walked into the hallway and Kevin pulled her into a dark corner and kissed her with longing, his hands in her hair. With one hand he tilted her head to the side a bit and slanted his mouth over hers, deepening the kiss. One hand remained buried in her thick blond hair, while the other ran down her back and pulled her closer to him. Kristy's arms were draped around Kevin's neck, her feet barely touching the ground, as Kevin supported her with his muscular arm around her waist. The kiss continued, becoming more and more intense as it went on. The sound of the door opening and the noise from the meet-and-greet room finally brought them back to reality. "Ehhh, hemmm." Brian cleared his throat, trying not to stare at his cousin and Kristy making out in the corner. It was so unlike Kevin, he had to resist the urge to laugh... but he couldn't help grinning. Kevin owed him and Nick big time! Kevin set Kristy back down, but didn't release his hold on her, partly because he thought they both needed to stabilize a bit yet. He turned to Brian, looking irritated at their interruption. "Sorry, ummm, Denise sent me to look for you. We can't find Kristy," he lied, knowing perfectly well where Kristy was. Kevin stepped aside a bit, revealing a slightly dazed and mussed Kristy. Her hair was rumpled and her skin was flushed, and Brian thought that she looked spectacular. Kevin gave Kristy another quick kiss and took her hand to lead them back to the room. Although Kristy still looked a little flustered, Brian laughed out loud when it was Kevin who stumbled with his first steps. Kevin shot Brian a warning look, but then grinned at his cousin and put his arm around Kristy and smiled warmly into her beautiful upturned face. Brian followed behind them and thought to himself, "Twitterpated!"Next: Chapter 8 |
