Dreaming Of You Chapter 6 "Oh, I love this song," Elaine said wistfully as we arrived at the dance. Jeff grinned and offered her his arm. "Well, then, shall we?" She laughed and took it. "We shall." Brian and I were behind them, and as we entered the room, the image from my dream came into my head. I sighed happily, but there was still something missing. What was it? Brian's arm was linked with mine and we just stood there for a while. Then he leaned towards my ear. "Wanna dance?" he whispered hopefully. I smiled. "Of course!" He led me out to where all the other couples were dancing, and placed his hands around my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck and we swayed back and forth to the music. "Brian," I said softly after a while. "Yeah?" he whispered. "Can I tell you something?" I turned my head so that I could look into his clear blue eyes. "Anything," he promised, pulling me a little closer. I smiled. "Okay, now this is going to sound weird . . ." I trailed off. "I have something weird to tell you, too, Lexi," Brian informed me calmly. "Well, okay." I sighed. "I've been dreaming of you -- but not since I met you . . . it was before I met you. And everything was just like this. How it is tonight." Brian let go of me and pulled back suddenly. Oookay, maybe I shouldn't have told him. "I- I-," he stammered. "I've had dreams of you too." I looked at him, surprised. "You have?" He nodded and stepped closer to me. "I have," he whispered, wrapping his arms around my waist. "What does it mean?" I asked desperately. Brian grinned. "I think . . . I think it means we're supposed to be together." I smiled. "Like soul mates?" He nodded solemnly. "Then can I tell you something else Brian?" "Yes," he said with a serious look on his face. I stopped dancing and looked into his eyes again. "I love you." There. How was he going to take that? A smile spread slowly across his face. "I love you, too." Now everything was perfect. THE END |
