Destiny Is Everything Chapter 2 - First Meeting Since this was a free day, Brian spent his morning and afternoon at the beachfront. It was eleven in the morning. The sun was shining brilliantly. People occupied patches of sand with towels, umbrellas, and boom boxes. Brian, not bothering with any beach gear, just plopped down on an unoccupied area of sand, wearing a white tee shirt and black shorts. Nick was just a few feet away, digging holes in the sand. A woman with blond hair strolled by with her schnauzer. The schnauzer, smelling Brian in the air, trotted over to where he sat. Brian, seeing only the dog, yelped with surprise, ''Hey there, 'lil doggie!'' and made smooching noises. ''Jiffy! There you are...,'' his owner said. Brian, upon seeing her, said, ''This would be Jiffy, eh?'' Jiffy's owner replied, ''Yep. That's my ever-curious dog of four years.'' Brian smiled, noticing how beautiful the dog's owner was. ''My name's...'', he began to say. Jiffy's owner cut him off, saying, ''Brian.Brian Littrell. I know. My cousin is such a big fan of the BSB. She can't shut up about you guys. Uh...No offense, I mean.'' ''None taken, '' Brian answered good-naturedly. ''My name's Danielle. Danielle Tyler.'' ''What a pretty name...So, how did Jiffy here get his name?'', Brian asked. ''Oh, he loves peanut butter. So naturally that became his moniker. Only I added an f-y to it. Either that or it was Skippy.'' Brian laughed, ''So are you a Backstreet fan yourself, Danielle?'' ''No.....but I have listened to your music...You've got a beautiful voice'', Danielle said in earnest. Blushing, Brian said an embarassed ''Thank you.'' He went on to ask Danielle, ''I know we just met and everything...but um, would you like to go out with me sometime?'' Danielle replied, '' Yeah. Sure, definitely.'' Brian said, ''Great. How 'bout tonight, then?'' Danielle answered, ''That'd be fine.'' ''Pick you up at eight'', Brian said. ''Where are we going?'', Danielle asked. Brian responded, ''It's a surprise.'' Just then Nick came running over. Seeing Danielle, Nick asked, ''So who's this beautiful girl, Brian?'' He winked at his best friend. Danielle, seeing Nick wink and in reaction to Nick's question, blushed deeply. Brian, a bit annoyed at Nick, answered, ''This is Danielle. Danielle, this is my fellow bandmate and best friend, Nick Carter. He can be a bit blunt sometimes, so don't mind him too much.'' Danielle, laughing lightly, replied, ''It's alright. Nice to meet you, Nick.'' Nick answered, ''The pleasure's all mine.'' (*Wink wink* at Brian again.) ''Nick! Would you stop that!,'' Brian said, playfully, but sounding like he meant it at the same time. ''Sorry, Bri. Well, I'll see you guys later. See ya!!'' and with that, Nick dashed off in the direction of the beach house. ''So, I'll see you tonight, I suppose. Bye, Brian,'' Danielle said. ''Yeah...See you then, '' Brian waved goodbye as Danielle and Jiffy jogged off in the direction of a lighthouse.Next: Chapter 3 |
