Sunset Chapter 13 �He�s awake.� �Thank God. We�ll be right over.� �He�s O.K.?� I asked. �I don�t know about O.K. but he�s awake. �That�s good.� We went to the hospital and went up to Brian�s room. He turned to us as we came in. �Hey B-rok. How are you?� Nick asked. �Fine considering I have a headache the size of Jupiter and the pain killers bring it down to the size of the moon. Jem did you get to the bus O.K.?� �Yeah. But halfway there I turned back because I saw you hit your head.� �Oh.� Was all he said. �when did the say you could come back?� Nick asked. �Today but they don�t want me to perform.� �Looks like your going to have to perform again Jem.� �What?� Brian and me said. �h Brian, Jem performed in your place. Jem it�s the other big show. Please?� He gave me a pleading look. �No.� He came closer to me. �Please?� He whispered and pushed me down while kissing me next to Brian. �Oh please. Could you do that at the hotel in your room?� �Sorry.� We said. �After that maybe but you�re going to have to continue it at the hotel and not lay on top of me.� I smiled slyly. �You got it!� I sat up since I was still laying down. I saw A.J. looking at me funny again and rubbing his hands together. �A.J. stop doing that. You�re scaring me.� I said �Do what? He stopped and looked innocent as everyone looked at him. �What you were doing before.� �I wasn�t doing anything.� �Yes you were. I saw it too.� Brian said. �Looks like you still want her.� He gave A.J. a look that crossed anger with leave her alone and you tried it before and look what happened. A nurse came in. �Visiting hours are over and you�re free to leave Mr. Littrell but don�t do anything strenuous.� �I get the point. Leave so I can get changed.� �We�re going cuz.� We left and got Brian back to the hotel. When we got to our room Nick laid down on the bed pulling me down on top of him. He started kissing me passionately. After a few minutes he pulled away. �What�s the matter? Why�d you stop?� �What was the tone in A.J.�s voice? What�s going on between you two?� �Nick, it�s not what you think.� �Then what is it?� He sat up. I then proceeded to tell him everything A.J.�s done. �I�m going to kill him!� �Nick, you do know that I would never cheat on you intentionally right?� �Of course. Jem I�m not blaming you. I�m blaming A.J. and want to kill him.� �And if you kill him you�ll be put on trial, be found guilty, be put in jail for life or executed and the Backstreet Boys will be no more since it won�t be the same.� �You can really spoil something can�t you?� I giggled. �I know. But it�s true.� �Yeah, yeah. I know. But I still want to kill him and maybe I�ll just hurt him.� �And make me do another performance? No way Jose.� Nick laughed. �You�re so cute. That�s why I love you. You�re still a kid at heart but are so mature when you want or need to be.� �I know.� I then kissed him and we resumed what we were doing before. We did the concert like always except Brian came out to do I�ll Never Break Your Heart because that has absolutely no moving around whatsoever unless you want to. I just sat on Nick�s lap during this song. After the concert Brian told me he was blown away by my voice. �Jem, since when do you sing like that? Wow!� �Since always.� �Oh my.... I can�t believe this.� I smiled at that. Then next day the guys surrounded me and said they had to tell me something. �Jem, We�ve decided to let you be our opening act.� Nick said. �What? Did I hear you right?� �I think you did.� Howie said. �I didn�t think I was that good.� �Jem I can hear the screams about as loud from backstage as anyone of us when you finish your solo.� Kevin said. �All right. I�ll be your opening act.� Yes!� The shouted and hugged me almost squeezing me to death. We went to the venue and finished the tour. When I got home I went to tell my grandma about my engagement. �Grandma guess what?� �What is it dear?� �I�m getting married.� �To who?� �Nick.� �That�s nice.� One thing about my grandma is that she� real laid back and a little out of it. She only yells when I get in trouble and then scolds herself for not remembering how she let me get away with it. �Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys.� �That�s nick young boy you went on vacation with?� �That�s him.� �I�m so glad. I like him. When�s the wedding?� �We don�t know yet.� �That�s nice.� I headed over to Nick�s. Nick was on cloud nine when he got home. Everyone in his house was wondering what was going on. They were just about to ask him when I showed up. I came in and gave nick a kiss. Then they asked. �Nick darling. why does it seem like your in heaven? And what is that ring on you finger Jem?� �Mom, dad, Aaron, Angel, B.J., Leslie. Me and Jem are engaged to be married.� �Congratulations son.� Mr. Carter said. �Yes, congratulations.� Mrs. Carter sad. The both came over and hugged us. Aaron, angel, B.J., and Leslie were standing there speechless. �Nick how did you ever afford this ring?� �You know me. I can.� �Yeah and don�t ever tell me the cost unless I� very old and going to be dead or you are. I said and laughed. �Gee. In that case I won�t.� �Well aren�t you four going to say anything?� Mr. Carter asked. �I never thought she would be becoming my sister this fast.� the all said and ran and hugged us. Later me and Nick went out on his boat to a secluded little island. |
