Peas and Carrots Chapter 21 We continued to play for about 10 or 15 more minutes until Jane called us down for dessert. I never seemed to win. I was really close once, but Nick did one of his green lightning bolts at me again and finished me off. Downstairs, Nick and I told our moms about going to Disney the next day. They both agreed that it was a wonderful idea, but Jane brought something to our attention: wed need Erik to come with us, of course, and he wasnt too crazy about the rides. "Well, cant he just wait for us at the end of the ride?" asked Nick, confused as to why Eriks fear of rides would interfere with our day. "Well, I guess youll just have to work that out when you talk to him next," replied Jane. "Speaking of Erik, youd better call him now and tell him about this, since he didnt sound too happy when he was called at the last minute for the beach, okay?" We finished the dessert and Nick walked around the corner of the kitchen over to the phone in the living room to call Erik. Nick was around the corner, and occupied, so my mom just hat to stick her nose in. "What were you and Nick doing in Nicks bedroom with the lights off and the door closed?" "What are you talking about?!?!?" I asked, mad that she would ever ask a question like that. "You know what Im talking about. Just before dessert, I was going up to the room youre in to ask if you had fun today, and you werent in there. I walked back down the hall and heard something in Nicks room. Two voices, to be exact. One male, Nicks, and the other female-you. So? what were you doing?"Next: Chapter 22 |
