| About me: I'm a college student trying to major in creative writing. My goal: to become a novelist and publish novels. My preferred genre is fantasy (i can just come up with all kinds of stuff!) and I'm currently working on a fantasy novel and a lot of short stories (fantasy or otherwise). There are two other novels in progress too (one of which will become my personal online comic). I have a couple of finished short stories, but writers always know that one is never finished writing (i.e. all the blasted editing we do...). Other than that I write a lot of fan fictions. In fact, if you have drifted here because you know me, it's probably because of my fan fictions. I'm honored that any of you who have come here even bothered. <bows deeply> Domo Arigato Gozaimashita... sniff... I don't deserve such an honor... |
| Hmmm...What else can I say about me? How did I get started writing? Well, I love coming up with stories for all kinds of stuff so being a writer just seemed like the perfect way to express my ideas. Especially since I can't draw and I really have no other way to incoroporate these wonderful characters and ideas and plots and stories without some form. If I hadn't at least found writing I would have blown up! So, yes... Writing became my medium for all my endless ideas. (Yes,I have a happy medium. ^^; sorry, Madeline L'Engle, but it's true. I do!) I was always unusually creative and my parents only encouraged that... Probably cuz they're weird and creative themselves. Yes, weirdness runs in my family. A LOT of weirdness. TOO much weirdness. I'm not joking. You don't KNOW my family. How can I describe them...? Think "Addams Family", that's us. We don't go around trying to kill each other (not yet), but we bother each other to death. And my parents do the Morticia and Gomez all the time. After almost 24 years of marriage, they're STILL doing all that kissiepoo and sexual innuendoes. How the heck did I get into talking about my family? Oh, well, since I'm here I might as well finish. I am Cuban. I see jaws drop. Get over it. I was born here but both my parents are refugees. <Shrug> Can't help heritage. And I like being Cuban. It's fun. I have 2 younger brothers (annoyingly tall and both pains in the @$$-I love them both- KAWAII OTOTO TACHI!!!) ahem...and I have an older half-brother (from my dad's first marriage). I've got 2 adorable nephews! ^_^ And an awesome sister-in-law! I love you all guys! I also love my grandparents and everyone in my family (though they'll probably never see this website... Old Cubans don't do internet). |
| In anime and manga I have three namesakes (i.e. where I got my psuedonym for my fanfictions "Sakura KaoruKagome": Kinomoto Sakura (Card Captor Sakura), Kamiya Kaoru (Rurouni Kenshin) and Higurashi Kagome (Inu-Yasha). The reason I AM these 3 despite how many people will argue is because my personality coincides with all 3. I can flip from Sakura to Kaoru instantaneously and then to Kagome without a blink. I'm serious. When I first saw Rurouni Kenshin and Kaoru appears and opens her mouth, both my younger brothers (along with my 2 cousins) turned to me and said "How the HELL did YOU get into one of these cartoons?!" Now, I was only Kaoru until we saw CCS-then my brothers said... "Wait a minute... this is Roxy when she gets all cute on us! Oh, crap. Hey, sis, those Japanese people decided to model one of your personalities again." This is FACT people. So when I put on Inu-Yasha for the first time and my brothers saw Kagome they only said, "OH SHIT! NOT AGAIN!" And it just so happens that all three chicks have brothers in some way or another. And most of the time they act a lot like mine.... grrrrrr... PS: And the fact that 'sakura' is associated with all three girls and I have a sakura blossom tattoo on the back of my neck to boot. I would like to thank my best friend and other friends for being there for me and for helping me out and making sure I keep writing. Thanks to Mi-chan aka Lina who is my very very very best friend and is like the sister I never had but wished I did; thanks to Kat aka Pop and Rio-chan who are my best friends anyone could ever ask for and I want you both to know that I LOVE YOU like crazy. To Maarit aka Fall Angel, who is the best overseas friend I could ever ask for (when are you coming to visit damn you~!)! To Tiffany, the inspiration to my comic and the owner and creator of my very favorite online comic. To Beryl, wherever you are. To Cynthia hugs and kisses~!
