Rurouni Kenshin is the result of the work and
talent of NobuhiroWatsuki . Kenshin first
appeared in 1994, in the weekly japanese
comic magazine ''Weekly Jump''.
Nobuhiro wanted to make a fantasy/adventure
type manga. The idea of making a manga
about the adventures of a wanderer samurai in the
Meiji Era came to him because at that time, he was
reading some history books. At first, Nobuhiro
wanted Kenshin to be a short story manga, that
wouldn't take more than 3 volumes, but when the
first episode came out, its success was so big that
actually there are 23 volumes of the adventures
of our favourite samurai.
Differences between the anime and the manga are,
basically, some short stories that appear in the
manga but doesn't appear in the anime. One of the
things I really enjoy about the manga, are the sketches
about the characters that Watsuki made, they are very
interesting because you can read how the author created
that character and if it has or not an historical
background.
To end this section about the manga Rurouni Kenshin, I
just want to thank Nobuhiro Watsuki for his great
work and for letting us enjoy such a great manga like
Rurouni Kenshin, Thank You.
